There has been a tremendous amount of debate regarding the use of weed by players and LSU's policy of abstinence.

If the rumors of NCAA testing before playoff games are true and the OU suspensions are due to this, we really need to keep our abstinence policy as it is.

All of you Generation Z snowflakes and leftover hippies will have to take that argument elsewhere. You don't work your asses off all year to lose key players for a playoff game just because of weed. That's absolutely stupid and counterproductive to our efforts to be a championship team

Why not stand-up for common sense? The "rules are rules" argument is lazy. Able-bodied talented athletes should not be prevented from performing because of some archaic rule that defies logic. If the MLB can come to its senses surely there's hope for the rest of you.

Sorry but weed should be legalized for recreational use. It’s less harmful than cigarettes, And those are legal.

If it’s legal for recreational use then it should be legal within the NCAA guidelines.

Problem solved.

1. NCAA doesn’t test for weed, just PEDs.
2. Rumors also say they aren’t releasing info because there’s an appeal. Appeal means NCAA test (PEDs), not school test (other drugs).

As long as it is against the rules don't smoke weed.

The only common sense action is to just don't smoke it. How did "standing up " work out for Colin Kapernick? Nobody will touch him with a 10 ft pole now.

This is why weed should be illegal.

Ok, I will. If I know that I put my playing future and the success of my team at risk by smoking weed, then COMMON SENSE tells me that maybe I should put it on hold until mid-January.

It’s dumb for a player to try and stand up to a LSU’s drug policy

It’s not dumb for people who could change said policy to stand up and change it.

It’s not dumb for people influence said people and have nothing to lose to try and influence them.

Weed isn’t a performance inhaling drugs. It isn’t addictive. It’s not as dangerous as opioids. It’s legal in a various states, and if the NCAA doesn’t test for it LSU shouldn’t.

Actually CK didn’t “stand up”, he kneeled when he should have stood up.

I agree with you on these points. The only problem I have is that if the players can't play in a playoff game due to weed use.

You do realize you can do both, right? You can follow the rules while simultaneously advocating for change. Many of us that say “rules are rules” would be supporters of a rules change.
