Reese and Clark have done more for women's sports than any other female I can remember. Interested to see if the WNBA viewership ratings increase with the additions of these two. I think it will for maybe two years.
They both went to small town schools, and could pack an arena. These girls are now going to big cities, and they won't be able to sustain packing arenas. No one GAF about seeing Reese in Chicago, LA, or Dallas.
So, with that...I think their endorsements will stick short term, but you won't see them on commercials in three years. Companies dish out NIL endorsements because of their popularity. When they fade in two years, they won't be getting big endorsements contracts. They better negotiate some large, multiyear contracts.
Good luck to her. Hope she has a great career!

Best of luck to her. Thank for her helping return us to being an elite program again

Thanks for 2 years at LSU. Best of luck, but shooting skills don't make her pro ready and not a top pick in the draft... rebounding will be her asset. Hope she can hang with the established bigs in the WNBA!

thanks for posting the VOGUE story link
Angel brought a massive amount of good to LSU in a short tenure that will endure a long long while - there were girls all over the world who became lifelong LSU WBB fans; was cool to read some of their comments on X and YT
don't know what else she said to the journalist but wish there were more complimentary quotes (or gratitude shown) re: LSU and Mulkey and her teammmates /// but nice phrases are usually cut in favor of dramatic phrases so "crazy" and "bump heads" was par for the course
“To sum it up, it’s been crazy,” she says of her time at LSU. A self-described “girly girl” who’s also calls herself “a killer on the court,” she relishes the opportunity to be herself. “I didn’t have to be in a box,” she says. A fan of crop tops and mini skirts, Reese’s youthful, splashy outfits are punctuated with designer accessories: Chanel bags, Rick Owens sneakers, Prada beanies, etc. While Mulkey—who herself is known for her high-wattage personal style—encouraged Reese to embrace her individuality, at the same time, Reese says, the coach pushed her. “She gets on me hard, and that’s something I need. We have that kind of relationship where we can bump heads but also be on the same page: We just want to win.”

Good. She's nothing but a cry baby, attention getting, selfish player, who doesn't put her team first.

I’m fully aware of that Why wouldn’t anyone want to invest in a 21 year old with a following of nearly 5 million across all social media platforms? Do you understand how shite works in 2024? Do you know how many people are millionaires strictly off Instagram? Are you aware that she put out a deceleration video on her IG page and in 1 hour it has 1 million views?
Yep. A lot of these morons with their:
“If ShE aIn’T pLaYiNg FoR lSu AiN’t NoBoDy GuNnA ReMeMbEr HeR!”
When you draw one million pairs of eyeballs in an hour with an innocuous Instagram post, major advertisers are lined up with their hat in their hands. And guess what? It AIN’T because she played basketball.
Yep. Some of these middle-aged male couch potatoes with their beer paunches have no idea the absolute power of Instagram, Tik-Tok etc. There are many Instagram millionaires who have found their niche with star power not the tiniest fraction of Angel Reese.

Did I say, I wasn't grateful? What she did last year was remarkable, withstanding the last minute against Iowa. Hand gestures and WWE mimicking is juvenile, and borderline ghetto. Act like a pro, act like you've been there before. The celebration part I get. She should've acted more professional. It's amazing that karma does truly exist, because she laid an egg in the biggest game of the year. Stop with the injury excuse. Deep down, I would GUARANTEE CKM is glad she no longer has to put up with such drama and can go back to coaching, instead of dealing with young rich woman's ego.

She’s making millions at a young age and still balled for LSU. A lot of young athletes would not have given that type of effort with all that fame and money.

I respect her decision, thank her for her contributions and wish her the best, but I think another year on the collegiate level would be beneficial to further improve her skills.

17 points, 20 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, 3 blocks.....

Are you insane? She was the SEC Player of the Year this year and led LSU in points and rebounds all year.

And she shite the bed in the biggest game(s) of the year. Should we suggest lsu get a participation trophy? In the 3 games vs USc and Iowa, she shot 54 times and made 21, for a puny 38%. That's while being a 6'3 all American (allegedly). Big players, make big plays, in big games.

You mean like she did last year in the title game? Or how she was absolutely on fire against Iowa until she hurt her ankle?
You people are so miserable

Last we heard, BB is a team sport. So 17 pts and 20 reb are not good enough numbers for you? Angel rolled her ankle again, over a stupid camera and wasn't the same after that. Unfortunately, we got next to nothing from our bench players.

She’s such a bad teammate all her teammates love her and have her back.
Go frick yourself.
Where did I say she was a bad teammate? Where did I say anything about her game?
I said I don't like players that run their mouth when things are going good but when they lose: they cry, whine, play the victim hood card and want to make it about them self and not the team. I prefer the colston type.
But I see your arse got triggered, so get your panties out of a bunch.
Peace

I wish nothing but the best for her. Geaux Tigers and good luck Angel.

Angel’s tears at the Elite 8 postgame press conference were very telling of what was to come.
Thank you for bringing home LSU WBB’s first natty and changing the game of NCAA WBB forever, Angel! The Bayou Barbie is a legend, Geaux Tigers!

Sad to see her go, but wish her all the luck in her future

quote:They won't go away. But she won't have as high of a profile in the WNBA as she has at LSU, which would likely make her sponsorships less lucrative.
Yes. People for some reason assume the sponsorships would go away.
The most watched WNBA game in history averaged around 1 million viewers. LSU-Iowa on Monday night had 12x the size TV audience. Angel in the WNBA won't get nearly the amount of TV and media exposure that she would get by staying at LSU.
But hey, she has a national title, her degree, and said she accomplished all her goals in college. Kind of hard to argue with that.
