He did.

Did he really struggle that much?

He dropped a lot of passes the first half of the season.

from a 2012 thread. He improved over the back half of that season though.

in trey's defense

There is no defense. He dropped two balls that a WR should not drop. Ever.

And it's not the first drop he's had this year. Outside of the 2 pt conversion vs Wisconsin, I can't remember a catch he's made, but I can remember 4-5 drops

He has made a handful of difficult catches this year. One on the sideline from what I remember that he barely got his feet in on.

AJ Green dropped 2 passes on back to back throws last Thurs night. Dude is one of the 3 best WR's on the planet.

Yea, it sucks that it happens, but it happens to every WR. Even the best

Did I say that? Obviously they work on it in practice.

I can say that knowing Trey, hes losing sleep over this. He will work tirelessly and those drops will never happen again.

Don't mean to sound negative, but it should've been fixed before losing the biggest game of the year.

Yeah, because no other team has drops in big games... They are freshmen and sophmores who have not played in big games.

No one even remembered Dural was on the depth chart until the big catch against Arky.

So what do these guys do in the offseason? Fall camp? Pre season? Week long practice before each game? In-game?

Like it's a big f'ing mystery "HOLY CRAP! We figured the solution out 10 games into the season - we can't drop balls!"

As You Sleep...Quinn led the WR's in the Ole Miss with 2 Clutch Catches for 42 yards & 3 1st Down Catches vs Florida

Quinn dropped two passes(not 3) vs Bama...he usually catches those in his sleep...

I'd like to do a % ratio on the WR's Dural, Dupre, Quinn with receptions & drops bet it's closer than you think!

What a candy azz only to remember the drops...that's how you roll huh!

I put some of the blame on the coaches for putting a true freshman in that position in one of the biggest games of the year.

You're not one of the ones criticizing the coaches for not playing Harris, are you?

Landry had about 3 drops his entire LSU career. I'll agree about Beckham though.

Not only that, Landry had about a half dozen impossible catches. Landry ended up catching MORE than the number of catchable balls he got.

If you need another example besides OBJ, try Brandon LaDrop. He was good the last two years, but his sophomore year...

I'm much more concerned about designing a passing game that allows the WRs/TEs to get open easier, rather than seemingly always forcing the QB to make throws into tight coverage.

They were open, the plays have been there in the passing game all year long. I don think that is the problem. We have seen jennings force the pass to dural when a te or fb was open underneath.

I guess my theory is jennings got so comfortable with dural last year because thats the guy he was getting reps with in practice, not jarvis not beckham and not any of these frosh.

I did, and so did anyone that follows recruiting. damn shame he got injured, could have had his true frosh season in 12 instead of injured and may have been further along last season when we needed another outlet for mett.

2012 our wide receivers couldn't catch anything mett threw. People forget that because those same guys dominated a year later.

Just for fun:

Giants' Odell Beckham Jr. Makes Ridiculous 1-Handed Catches in Pregame vs. Colts

But...

We need to work Quinn in throughout the game. Now he is being used like Russell Shepard was. Every time he comes in the game, it is usually a designed play for him. And lately, we keep him cold on the sideline until the 4th quarter, then expect him to come in a do magic.
