I guess you were pissed at Harris for the Auburn loss? It was all his fault, correct?

Miles has always put that trust in his freshman. TM7 was put on the spot in his 1st game at LSU. Quinn was put on the spot in his first game at LSU. LF6 had some crucial plays on the game winning drive vs. Ole Miss.

That's like saying Harris shouldn't have blown the Auburn game...

I think he'd be the first to tell you that he should have played better. It isn't a knock on either player. They have to get that big game experience eventually.

Landry had about 3 drops his entire LSU career. I'll agree about Beckham though.

Who says anyone is pissed at him?

I felt bad for him, b/c he's a better player than that and will have to live with those drops for a while now. Hell, you compared him to Welker who cost his team the Super Bowl with a drop. shite happens.

By your logic, when should a player get big game experience?

harris had a TERRIBLE game. he was overthrowing wide open receivers and couldn't get the ball to them. it was his first start on the road and I chalk it up to nerves. neither QB could convert a third down. 0-13 and the defense gave up 41 points. just a shite game

I agree. Some of our best/most succesful receivers had drop problems their freshman year. Dwayne Bowe, Early Doucet, Odell Beckham, Brandon Lafell.

I definitely remember LaFell having major issues with drops early on. These guys will be more than fine.

Regardless of age, simple 5 yrd slants that hit you in the gloves from AJ NEED to be caught. Its not like they convereted him from a Kicker to the slot guy.

You talking about Dupree here? Cause he dropped a 3rd down slant right in his hands.

the WR's were dropping passes that hit them in the hands at LEAST 7 times

no honest person can put that on jennings. he got them the ball. got to execute.

I have zero doubt that they can get this fixed.

Me neither. Seems people forget Landry (yes, Landry) and OBJ had drop issues early in their career at LSU.

Oh you don't sound negative, you sound ignorant.
Go for negative next time.

I'm not worried about this. Those guys know how to catch the football. It's likely the moment overwhelmed them a bit. The more comfortable they get, the less drops we'll see.

I'm much more concerned about designing a passing game that allows the WRs/TEs to get open easier, rather than seemingly always forcing the QB to make throws into tight coverage.

I think I remember one pass that Landry actually dropped. He got criticized a ton on the Rant for not making catches when he managed to get his fingertips on the ball. OBJ had some serious drop issues early in each season.

Not sure it is something that needs to be "fixed." At this level the receivers can catch the ball at an elite level. It is simply a matter of executing at the right time in the game. They can catch 1000 passes in practice and still drop one at a crucial time in the game. There are so many variables that affect the success of the passing game.

How many times have we seen a basketball player hitting 80% of his shots in pregame then shoot 4-15 in the game or vice versa.

I didn't see that many. I saw 4, maybe 5. Bama had as many or more dropped passes than LSU.

Bowe, LaFell, Odell, Toliver, Byrd, Doucet, Randle, and Landry all dropped some passes and many were in big games. All of these players had some big catches as well and this is just off the top of my head.

W Davis and Buster Davis and J Reed were the only ones I recall that caught just about everything.

This years bunch will be alright. Every drop seems like a killer at the time. This last game they were as it turned out. If they had made those catches and LSU had won, the gumps would be all over Cooper for his drops.
