Curious of what you guys think. I’m a proponent of deferring(like Saban did NOT bK for sure uhggg) but something tells me Kiff will want that ball first to strike first. Thoughts?

It’s not automatic. It depends in weather, who are playing, if you expect a high scoring or low scoring game, injuries, etc,

It never makes sense to get the ball first. If you look at it logically then you’ll understand that asking for the ball first means there’s a chance you’ll have less possessions:

Just wanted to come in here and say the rant constantly ragged on BK for receiving swearing the best option was always defer. Just keeping a spade a spade

Coach said he likes to look at statistics, etc…, so this is a tough one to predict, especially for the first game.

Kiffin in his presser yesterday said they analyze it per opponent and generally they choose to receive - and believe they have been successful.

I would rather defer, especially in home games.

Is this scenario mathematically impossible? Is there any way that LSU gets an extra possession in the first half. Please explain to this moron.

The Saints always received the year they won the Super Bowl. If you have a high powered offense take the ball and start the opponent at a deficit.

Yes, Nick Saban is the only coach in history to defer most, if not all, the time.
