re: Reasons why LSU beats Miami

It isn't blind optimism.
We have inherited a senior QB trained for three years under Urban Meyer.
He was highly recruited and played at one of the best programs in the country. He is big, strong armed, athletic, a good runner, and appears very competitive.
If LSU fans can't get excited about this guy after suffering through the past several years when can we??
But the fact that his presence instantly improves our QB situation can't be argued. That takes away the advantage Miami had with Rozier, who while a known quantity, wasn't a world beater last year against the better competition he faced.
The teams are now much more evenly matched at QB than they were a month ago.

Thanks for posting that justice. I was dealing with my Granddaughter when I was responding to ree and I just flat didn't want to spend the time to find any of the horseshite that guys has posted over the last year.
But Ree has all ready denied saying things like that (shocker) and it's great that you took the time to prove him wrong.

And look let’s be clear, I’ve never hated LSU even after that peach bowl beat down lol. Good luck the rest of the way after our game of course
Same, like I said I have a lot of respect for Richt and would love to see him do well there. Steal lots of guys from UF please
ETA: I'll leave the Canada piece to one of the O apologists. They're already in this thread.
I will say our new guy is a true Tiger. I wish him all the best because he'll get thrown under the bus in a heartbeat if he isn't up to the job. I think he'll surprise people though

That's great. I'm not exactly computer savvy, so when ever I want to find something, I browse through their or my post history to find it. That can be time consuming sometimes. and I'm not sure if there's a quicker way to locate past posts.

Yes it is.

The one clear advantage they may have had would have been QB but with Burrow on board it actually makes Rozier look much more pedestrian, which is really what he is.

How can anyone make comments like this?
Well, not answering for the poster but the Miami QB who is predicted to be the starter against LSU did this in the last 3 games of this past season:
Pitt:
15-36
Clemson:
14-29
Wisconsin:
11-26
I think Brandon Harris would almost make their guy look pedestrian.

- one final thing, why did LSU get rid of Matt Canada? He was a great offensive coordinator...
The Eaux apologist who wrote this article for CFN thinks it may have had something to do with:
quote:
However, the offense was the worst in the SEC in the Red Zone, coming away with points a pathetic 77% of the time.
There were two missed opportunities in the bowl loss to Notre Dame, two in the loss to Troy, and with touchdowns coming just 59% of the time when the team had a chance.

shite. I'll upvote you all day about Canada's redzone and especially goal line offense. It was flat out embarassing.

Does it say why he hired him to begin with or what other guys he interviewed?
Posted on 6/22/18 at 3:06 pm to Tiger Ree
He tried to say he had a shoulder injury during the va tech game in one of the spring practice interviews. personally idk what to think I mean Let’s face it he’s inaccurate but he ain’t THAT inaccurate that he showed in those last 3 games. His play defintiely declined from the first half of the season compared to the last half. Most Miami fans want someone else in there and we have talent behind him but rosier does have experience

After the way the Canada hire blew up in o's face, and after the way you spent months on end here on the rant bragging about the outstanding hire o made, I don't blame you for trying to attempting to put as much distance as you possibly can between you and those posts
Not doing that at all. I was excited that the hire would turn out the same way for LSU as it did for Pitt in their win against Clemson. He had more talent here than at Pitt.
quote:
but you did spend some time belittling the LSU offense under Miles and claiming that it would be a different story under o.
It was Cameron's offense and it was really easy to do. You should have watched some of the LSU games under Cameron and then under Slinger. I am still glad Cameron is not at LSU anymore.
quote:
arguing with you about o not having any experience as a coordinator. And you kept saying that it wasn't a big deal because LSU would thrown a ton of cash at whoever was on their radar and that person would accept the offer.
What??? Are you talking about Canada? Did LSU not throw money at him and him not accept? The only other coach I am aware of was Kiffen and he turned down more money for a HC opportunity.
quote:
You responded back, calling me names, saying there wasn't a coach in college football that would turn down more money. I used Lane Kiffin turning down o to go to FAU as an example and you responded back ranting like a madman again.
Yeah, I think you are full of shite and have me confused with another poster.
quote:
That, and you being one of those posters that defend o to the death and place all the blame for things that have gone south under o's watch on other people, like the Canada hire that went bad, make you and your posts pretty easy to remember.
I have posted what I have read and heard. I have never said I knew the whole story behind Canada being shown the door. The Aranda-Canada stuff was a lot more prevalent than a Eaux-Canada deal. If it was a topic today I would post the same exact things.
quote:
At least for people who have a halfway decent memory. Probably not for people like you who have the memory of a hamster though
You seem to place more value on what I post than I do. I would probably post the same exact thoughts today as I did when the original posts (if they exist) were made.
This reminds me of the lunatic idiot again. He was saying "you said this the other night and told me this this morning and told drama queen Solo this today". I asked why he was bringing it up and he went on a deranged multi-page tangent about something. But Yes, I did make the posts he referenced and absolutely nothing had changed in anything I said at any of the times mentioned. and I would say it all again.
You are pretty much doing the same thing here. Yes, I was optimistic about Canada and it didn't produce the results I had hoped and it didn't work out for him being at LSU. Sue me
I own my stuff.

You went on and on about how the "experts" get things wrong and kept using "experts" as a way to say they don't know what they're doing. When I said that you said they don't matter, you started in on the "I never said that" just like you did today. Trying to get out of it by using the "I didn't use those exact words" ridiculous argument. Then even went on to say "I didn't say that in this thread" as if that matters. You were wrong then and you were even more wrong today.
I still love you though. No little disagreement will ever change that my friend.

I just don’t see how anyone could predict a big win for us against Miami. Their O may not be great, but their D should be. Our O is a big ?, but our D should be elite. If anything, I see this being a 10-7/14-10 type of game.
Miami is a jeckyll and hyde team like us. Last season they beat ND badly, but nearly lost to a horrible North Carolina team and lost to a struggling Pitt. I'm not impressed with Malik Rosier at all. If he doesn't improve they won't go far. Their D is really good, but their key to wins is forcing turnovers. If you have good ball protection, Miami is very beatable.

(Last year was his first year at Pitt. He was the only offensive Broyles award candidate. He played in a conference that included teams like Florida State, Clemson, Miami, Louisville, etc. and was still able to accomplish what he did.
Even if he doesn't do as well at LSU as he did at Pitt, chances are it will still be a HELL of a lot better than anything LSU has seen in a while.)
Own that ree.

Now that Space Cowboy is gone, there isn't anyone on the board that uses an argument for one group as a positive and then the same argument as negative for another group as much as you. Then, when you get called out on it, you lash out. It's okay to admit it.

Probably had to do with a promise he made to idiot LSU fans to go out and get the best available.
Or it could have been:
quote:
Last year, when hiring Lane Kiffin fell through, Alleva and other powerbrokers made it clear to Orgeron that they expected another big name. Enter the Matt Canada fiasco — and that’s not a bad word to use. Basically, once the work became serious, Canada became a problem for virtually everybody in the LSU Ops Building to work with. Dave Aranda, in particular, very much wanted him gone. It wasn’t about philosophy or jet sweeps or motions so much as it was just a basic working relationship and trust.

Do you think they made him hire Canada? Others have said that and if it's true, it's bullshite. You don't hire a guy then tell him to hire for his first big hire.
If not, I would have to think there were other big names he could have gone after had he properly vetted Canada which what I believe Voodoo was getting at.
