Yeah, I have hard time seeing him not getting a fat paycheck this year.

Ruckert and Pearson will likely also be starting, and Patrick will have a chance but I wouldn't pencil them in as locks.
I can see Ruckert starting, but I'm fairly positive we recruit over Pearson. He'll be 22 by the start of next baseball season and hasn't shown a consistent ability to hit SEC pitching. The defense got better, but it's not nearly enough to offset the lack of bat.

Patrick could certainly improve, but he'll have to show it early. We're not going to spare any expense in the outfield portal wise. Jay likely recruits over him and makes him really earn a spot.

Typically in a season only about 13 pitchers really contribute. Having 7-9 you can count on usually will get you through the weekend.

Yep

I don't think our arm talent is as bad as our season reflects. Rather, Jay needs to really take a hard look at our approach to pitching. IDK where the breakdown occurred but it was season-long and with rare exception, no one improved.

Samuel Dutton would be a case in point. His LSU stats would've fit right in this year. But he transfers to Auburn and becomes their Friday starter and his ERA improved like a run/game.

Either get drafted this year or lose a ton of money next year. Not sure who is advising them otherwise. Hope he loves lsu that much but I doubt it

Explain to me how he would lose money next year if 5 for 5 is passed.

I will hang up and listen

100% correct

Is suspect there will be so many names we don’t even know about at this time.

He could have a worse year, have a major injury etc.

This isn’t 1996. Lots of teams can win it all so elite players don’t have to leave.

Agreed. If Pearson is a starter next year…we’re in trouble. Need a solid glove that can run and hit for average.

You think Ruckert can play 3B? I think i would give him a shot at 3B he cant be no worse than Pearson

I honestly don't know. Didn't see enough of the arm this year (and don't know how it was in HS) to know if he had it. I will say, I think a position like third base that requires less thinking and more reacting/natural ability could be a better spot for him.

In a perfect world, you keep your athletic infielders in the middle and put a power bat at the corners.

I just don't see Pearson being there next year unless something more clicks with him offensively. Given we have 3 other guys who are in that DH/1B mold in Braun/Serna/Bide, his only real shot at PT is at 3B. Maybe he tears it up in summer ball and takes another step and keeps that spot, but we'll see.

Pearson, Ruckert and Patrick will all need to raise their batting averages over this year.

Was on business in Amarillo recently & ran into a couple from Albuquerque that are friends with Dylan Blomker’s family.

They said Dylan is very excited about signing with LSU.

Told them he would be joining a NC program, & they were aware of the 2025 NC team.

The look on their face when I told them that made 8 NCs total, 2nd only to USCs 12, was priceless.

TIFWIW.

We finally did this against Oklahoma and Auburn, and look how well it worked. Can’t believe we waited all year to pitch like that.

for Pearson and he hasn’t hit SEC pitching consistently enough to make any concessions for.

He is a dead red FB hitter. Been saying that all seasons

At least he was better than Reeves and we didn't have to see him at 3B this year.

Can you believe a poster thought Reeves would be the starting 3B last year when SEC play started? These posters sometimes dont have a clue.
