SB was a really good team, too. They were seeded based on RPI but they didn't have a bunch of guys drafted as a fluke. Indiana now and Stony Brook then are probably about the same.

Shouldn't this reflect poorly on the selection committee?

if lsu is the only national seed to make it, they should just move the CWS to the Box South imo

If it played out like that, my pick would be LSU vs. Mississippi State for the national championship.

The teams that beat their national seed opponents are still pretty good though, you don't get to Omaha by accident no matter what your previous record.

Louisville looks pretty good - I could see LSU vs UL for title.
Btw, I think SB was a regional 4 seed but not a national seed

SB was one of two regional 4 seeds to make it to Omaha in the Super Regional era. Fresno state won the whole thing a few years back as a regional 4 seed.

Obviously what he meant, LSU hosted that super regional not Stony Brook.

Point being Indiana was in the discussion for a national seed and Stony Brook was barely in the tournament.

Wrong. Barry Larkin played in cws and he was with Michigan. That was the late 80's I thought.

My bad. That was 29 years ago in 84.
