A taunting call against on your punter against a rival. Totally worth it.

Last I knew it was the only time a TD was called back for taunting.

Sucks, because when do punters get another chance?

It something that was barely noticed for a split second. Not like it was a shoe toss, or a leg pull of a tackler off of the pile, etc.

Tre Smith from Auburn literally flipped into the end zone against Florida in 2006 and it wasn’t called. I understand that the rule didn’t exist then, but it was total BS to call that on Brad Wing. Also, Pussy Ricks should have been called for the same penalty on his pick 6 vs Florida in 2020,

The original meme quote that I remember:

"Swagger. If your punter gets flagged for taunting a ranked team on the road, your team has it."

They admitted that it was a point of emphasis for them BUT the only reason they enforced it was bc it was LSU

it was called in a PAC12 game involving USC.
blocked kick returned for TD on like last play of the game.
Team that was already winning blocked them kick and scored but was called off.

then that evening PAC12 overturned the call and out points back on the board.

outcome of game didn’t change, but it did change whether or not somebody covered the spread.

was some shady as frick sounding shite.

That was hilarious. We got penalized because the poor Florida players were getting taunted by our punter who they couldn’t come close to catching. That may have been my favorite play of the year.

That Brad Wing was still the Offensive MVP of that team. Punting & trapping the opponent deep in LSU territory was the best way for that team to score. Well that or TM7 punt return!!

My exact thought was “college football is getting soft.”

If I only knew.
