Transfer Portal and JUCO signees are two different things.

He didn’t. He’s ranking portal players, not juco transfers.

Lots of misses
When 5 of your 13 portal additions lead directly to a championship, and a 6th is a top 10 pick, you've done better than every other coach in America in the portal.

The JUCO player Tanner Reaves?

5)Chris Stanfield
6)Michael Braswell
7)Tyler McManus
8)Seth Dardar
9)Mac Bingham
10)Zack Yorke
11)Edward Yamin
12)Trent Carraway
13)Brayden Simpson

Before this season Mac Bingham was the worst we took. Yorke, Carraway, and Simpson are all worse than him. Dickinson was more impactful than Berry. McManus, due to position, may have been more impactful than Berry. Tommy White, Chris Stanfield, Luis Hernandez, Danny Dickinson, and Michael Braswell all directly contributed to championships. Yamin indirectly contributed.

McManus feels more important than 7th because he helped stabilize the catcher spot that year, but it's hard to move him up past other guys.

Special mention to Dalton Beck who nearly decapitated a Tennessee pitcher to allow Jared Jones to walk them off.

Putting the list together actually looks like there aren't all that many misses. But 3 of them were guys Jay relied more on history with than evaluation. I think that's where he changes his approach.

I think Dickinson and Hernandez should be above Berry for the simple reason if they didn’t get them I don’t know if LSU wins it all in 2025

I feel like Yamin should be higher on the list. Especially above Yorke at least. Yamin has never really gotten enough of an opportunity to really show what he can do.

JUCO guys don't enter the portal. They have a more traditional recruitment rather than the speed dating of the portal.

But it really doesn't matter how much I explain it to you. Like any other topic, you'll just disregard any facts that are inconvenient to you and keep repeating your bullshite.

So go on trying to put people in the wrong categories specifically because you want to bitch about them.

We don't. Plain and simple.

I said this in a different thread, but Dickinson was a unicorn. Legit prospect after his freshman year, but never lost the walk-on mentality (he was a walk-on at UVU, last guy added to the roster).

Hernandez is similar. Came in with a tall ask, to catch more than he had his entire college career. And did it with a good attitude.

We hit on "clubhouse guy" with both of them as much as we hit on the player aspect. That's also where I think some of the misses in the most recent class are.

Swap Dickinson and Berry. McManus above Braswell. Rest I agree.

Sorry for wanting to group a JUCO transfer with other transfer players.

And also sorry for questioning you about anything baseball related

Sorry to hijack. Too bad he couldn’t get approved to return this year. Wonder what he’s up to these days?

JUCO athletics do not have a transfer portal. They commit and sign just like high school student athletes

Looking at the list I really feel like Luis and Dick are 2A/2B. Those two guys were money. Luis saved our season multiple times last year in the tournament. That's not a knock on Berry either because he was a great player.
