I remember that hit on John Parker Wilson. Mike Patrick said, "That's just evil."
LaRon was a bad dude.
For me though, I have to go with the Honey Badger. I have never seen anyone play like he did. It was like there were two number 7's out there.
He was over here and a second later, he's downfield stripping the ball or making an int.
That strip he did on De'Anthony Thomas in the Oregon game happened right in front of me. I went nuts.
The guy was just unbelievable.

TM7 and Laron Landry are the two most impactful players on your list. TM7 wasn’t a safety at LSU so not sure why he’s part of the group but out of the actual safeties Landry was the the most dominant player. He was great in the box, in center field and on the blitz plus he was feared by every ball carrier on the opponents offense. Look at the defenses he quarterbacked at LSU, you’d have a hard time matching his tenure for any safety at LSU.

Any list of the greatest LSU DBs without Craig Steltz or Steve Rehage is illegitimate.

Laron Landry brought the pain and was hell on a blitz. He delivered more hits than any of the others. I think he invoked the most fear in opposing teams knowing he was going to knock you if he tackled you.

ETA: I was only ranking safety type players which way I don't have the obvious great CBs listed. Had a debate amongst friends about this and I wanted more opinions
You don't even have the Best 4 "Safety Types" at LSU on your list.
Tommy Casanova
Steve Rehage
Craig Steltz
Devery Henderson. (Sorry, I meant Jack Hunt; get them confused like Hawthorne)

Will always be behind Mathieu. Even Claiborne if going 1 single year. Claiborne's Thorpe year was superior to any Peterson had here.

Luckily for Mathieu he isn't ranked based on his CB skills. Call him whatever you want, Cb, S, Nickel, his roam-ability, like Polumalu, was what made him special. More S impact than CB. He was the target to be picked on by Bama in the '11 rematch because as a cover guy he was less than great to be nice. Mccarron/Norwood chumped him that night. Sabans little nudge. Make our best player a weakness and kill our spirit. It worked.

Feel like some of y’all seriously forget just how good Delpit was his Sophomore year. Commentators would constantly talk about his impact and how offense’s had to know where he was lined up on every single play.
