Probably unless he truly pulls a Donovan and builds something here.

I will wait until he wins his 1st game before I start to worry about things like this. When I attended LSU in the early 1980's it was a basketball school. If Wade makes it one again, we should pay him top dollar (we can afford it) and keep him.

If Wade can get LSU consistently rolling to the likes of a Kentucky, Duke, Kansas, or North Carolina, then I see no real reason for him to leave LSU - assuming we pay top dollar.

He's from Nashville and went to Clemson, so it isn't like he has any real ties to these basketball blue bloods. Unless one of them really took a turn for the worst and he saw a challenge to rebuild a historic program, what's the point?

That's if the Lakers don't get him first.

Good thing we have a competant AD who put a huge buyout in Wade's contract to keep those blue bloods away. Oh... wait.

Would you rather be a head coach at LSU or (Kentucky, Duke, Kansas, NC, maybe UCLA?)

I am not saying LSU isn't a good job

Maybe.

But true or false LSU is a sleeping giant in basketball?
Though despite LSU having garbage facilities the state seems to be ripe with recruits who are/were currently leaving the state.

Hopefully there's a good defensive line coach on staff.

LSU can be a basketball perennial power like UF was under Donovan.

But, with our current talent, we won't be doing much in the SEC this season. A talent infusion in the fall of 2018 will start that process, IMO.

In his opening presser he mentioned how he really wanted to leave his stamp on something. Another thing he mentioned right after that was his wife was expecting a child. So in my opinion, I think he’ll be here for a while. For him to be a stepping stone to a top tier program he’ll have to had built a consistent winner with deep tourney runs thrown in the mix. If that’s the case I will be completely content with his tenure. And we would be able to get a good coach once he leaves because the perception of our program would be a lot better.

Nah LSU can compete money wise with any of these schools and LSU can easily become a powerhouse college basketball program. LSU basketball may suck right now but we have all the sources to become a powerhouse
