So, I expect all of the jokes at LSU's expense to continue.

Yep, Kelly isn’t going to win anyone in the media over because his humor attempts, when taken out of context, sound like him being a dick. People won’t shut up about it until we beat some teams we aren’t supposed to.

The local media thinks it’s funny to pile on with the national media. No one around here is laughing though. They wonder why everyone thinks they’re a complete joke.

Win a title or a major bowl game this year?
LSU is the current laughing stock and Kelly is the Clown right now. Team looked unprepared to play and was horribly coached in all aspects.
We will be fortunate to win 3 sec games and go 6 - 6 with a bowl game. LSU is looking at a losing regular season for the 1st time since 1999 - over 2 decades ago.
Nobody expected the $100 Million coach to win the SEC this season but we expect an organized well prepared team with decent coaching.

So if he wants like 11 games next year and the next we will still be a laughing stock.

Did that look like a well-coached coached team to you?

...or did it look like a well-coached team that unfortunately came up short in the end?

Kelly can change the narrative with a trophy or two?

This coaching staff, at his point, has shown themselves no better than Orgeron's first and last staff. According to our experts, our QB is much better than O's except Burrow.
The talking heads are covering for them.
Wouldn't a quarterback that sees the field and gets the ball away on time, help the O Line.
I noticed, watching OTB this morning, two TD's thrown by Travis were thrown with LSU defenders in his face.

No? That's exactly what I blame it on, and I expected it.

The more Kelly gets shite on in the national media the more I want to run through a brick wall for him. I hope the entire fan base can rally around him and give him the support he deserves.

that football program in the south has won THREE national championships...while ND hasn't done so in 25 years (and counting).

It was the 1988 season, so this makes 34 years. And their last one only happened because they were able to get West Virginia in a bowl game. If the BCS was in place they would have had to play someone like Miami or FSU, and they would have been waxed.

The great Hap Glaudi always said, "Never fall in love with a coach, they will disappoint you everytime."
McClendon
Stovall
Arnsparger
Archer
Hallman
Dinardo
Saban
Miles
Orgeron
Kelly
Hap, pretty smart man.

The fanbase needs to get its head around where the program truly is and what "success" looks like in 2022.

The state of the program is not good. Its hard to wrap your head around because just 2 seasons ago, they fielded perhaps the greatest CFB team of all time, but the post '19 gold rush for LSU talent left the cupboard bare. Kelly is essentially starting from scratch. He's recruiting well and leveraging the portal very well. If he can eek out 7 or 8 wins, show real development and improvement, and continue to hammer down top talent, I think there's reason to be optimistic.

It's not that the media necessarily dislikes Brian Kelly. They just can't understand why someone from MA, coaching at ND, would chose to live and work with YOU people

And I'd use this with La kids, in recruiting.

Fix the mistakes, win a few of the games you probably shouldn’t, and the ridicule goes away.

ETA: And also win the games you should.

Not only didn't "beat the brakes" off them, LSU LOST.

To Florida State.

In the State of Louisiana.

Bring on Saban.

The media's gleeful scorn of Kelly at LSU is tiresome. It cannot really be attributed to our performance on the field Sunday, since it started long before that. The truth is that the national media, many of whom were educated in the north, feel comfortable trivializing and stereotyping LSU because it lies in Louisiana. I hope Kelly shuts them up permanently by building a dynasty.

Not to be political but pulling for Brian Kelly feels like supporting Trump. Literally every little thing the man does gets ripped in the media and blown way out of proportion. It’s exhausting.

Trump constantly said dumb shite and deserved to be mocked. He is more similar to Miles and Orgeron.

Kelly did nothing wrong. National media are confused by why anyone would leave ND for LSU. Then the guy says the word “family” in a weird way and everyone jumps on that trying to turn him into the next Miles/Orgeron.
