Q&A with LSU QB Danny Etling

ETLING: I had an ankle injury and tried to play through it one week before it healed up. It didn't work out so well. We decided to go a different way from there.

ETLING: I definitely learned a lot. I'm not the same quarterback that I was as a freshman, just going in and playing for the first time. I've had a lot of ups and downs in my college career, so it's been nice to have a year off, re-evaluate everything and change my style of play. Learn football again and have fun with it.

ETLING: Every snap you take is audition, because your teammates see it and the film doesn't lie. We (he and Brandon) continue to show our teammates that we can take care of the ball, get them in the right play and we're energetic.

He sounds like he will be the perfect #2 QB for us this year. A guy with real game experience, mature player. Can't wait to see him in the Spring Game. I think we're in good hands if Harris gets hurt.

Having a good #2 will take pressure off of Harris and build some confidence that the weight is not only on his shoulder. Will do us some good for a change.

I am really glad the kid is here, however I'll be Suprised if he ever takes meaningful snaps.
