I'm still trying to figure out what they are giving away to get this many people to come to a girls gymnastic meet.

Competitive entertainment.

But you come across as a dumbass so I wouldn't expect you to understand such simple concepts.

Tickets were free. The 7:30 start time helps families get home from work and have plenty of time to get to campus.

Amazing to realize that the wonderful gymnastics program actually makes money for the school. Fantastic!

Jesus H. Christ... It amazes me that some of you morons pit programs against each other. They're all LSU. I watch them all and pull equally for each one. I swear, some of you people need fricking therapy and meds...

I'm nit pitting anything against anything hoss.

I just don't understand how/why 13k people would go watch gynamstics.
That's more than baseball game.

I'm trying to understand what the draw is here.

LSU's baseball game vs Baylor had a bigger crowd than that

If you can't spell it, you probably will never understand it. If it's not your sport of choice to watch, then don't dis on those that do enjoy it. I assume you don't watch the Olympic gymnastics either. It's just another sport to enjoy....not everyone is football only. Spread your wings a little.

Tigerlee it is a family event. At least half the crowds are children. In the boring city of Baton Rouge, if you don't drink there is very little to do with the family that is clean and moral. It is also an LSU sporting venue. Last but not least, Grown men like to look at pretty women, even if they are there with there little kids.

Summed up perfectly. It is also affordable. Tickets are only $5 and for two meets a year, this one included, you could get your tickets free if you printed out something from the Advocates website.

It's pretty simple really. There are a lot of young families that need a Friday night event that can entertain kids in a family atmosphere. Football and baseball are miserable for most little kids. This is a cheap, fun, and convenient way of keeping the kids entertained. LSU picked up a lot of new fans in the sport as a result of good marketing.

Then you factor in the pervs and die hards, plus the fact that they're incredible athletes. we've been a consistent top 6 team for the last five years. It honestly makes a ton of sense. I don't go, but I still think it's awesome LSU can at least put asses in the seats of non-revenue sports

LSU fans will show up to see a successful program. They are passionate about any sport and the school. Not many other universities have this kind of support regardless of sport. Underwater basket weaving would fill the bleachers if it was a winner.

D-D Breaux has also done a great job recruiting students to attend their meets. It is really funny watching her rock out in the student section of basketball games. D-D is an LSU treasure.

Folks, The Gymnastics team is a great group of young women. We should support them regardless of how appealing gymnastics as a sport is to us individually. They lead the entire athletics department in total hours volunteering for community events. They also have a high team GPA. They embody everything that I love about this university.
