We really have to find a way to get the ball to him. Any time he touches it he is a threat to go all the way. The problem is that he has never been a WR and he is so focused on catching the ball he rarely does much after he makes a catch downfield. But when we hit him while he is moving or if he breaks a run he could take it to the house pretty quick.

Although I agree with these sentiments....there is something ironic about having to make it in the senior yr of one of the most highly touted recruits in LSU history.

Has as much to do with the way he is used. He isn't a true WR and that is what the staff tried to do.

Work him out of the backfield and the slot. They guy averages over 6 yards per carry for his career.

yes, he is very good in wide open spaces. Miles hasn't used him right so far. He is Pervy Harvin.
Need more plays where they put him in wide open spaces.

Yep, other than Harvin being stronger, faster, a better receiver, and a better runner....they are basically the same guy.

Shep is still one on my favorite Tigers. And he showed a little more in this game.

I am glad shep had a non horrible game. But I am really surprised at all the support and such when he dropped a short pass that hit him right between the numbers.

You're surprised LSU fans support an LSU player? This program has a history of receivers with a drop problem that went on to do great things.

Everyone can see his talent, fans should support him and hope he he has a great season.

Don't misunderstand. I am a huge supporter of Shep. Before the game he was being ripped on the rant about being a bust and having no place and doesn't have a position over and over.

Now that he has another game were he drops another pass he is getting all kinds of love. Yes I am surprised at the rant turn around after his performance last night. I would have thought that he would be getting hammered here again and people would be posting that they can't wait to see Wright back against Auburn.

I'll be the first to admit I doubted him and was calling for someone to take his snaps. He made some impressive grabs last night. We are DEEP at WR.

geaux shep

Hopefully he can keep it up for the team and himself. I am still (irrationally) confident he will be an impact player at one point this season, as in a big play when we need vs Bama or SC or in the SEC CG.
