You can pull for whatever team you want. But personally, I Love LSU and have since as far as my memory allows. True Tiger fans experience & know the essence of what it is to be an LSU supporter. You either feel it or you don't. It transcends the game. It's part of your psyche. I don't give a shite who pulls against LSU because they don't know that feeling. It's their loss. Love Purple, Live Gold! Forever LSU!

Isn't Monroe closer to Tuscaloosa than it is BR?

Yes

Um, no. And it's not even close to being equal. BR is much closer than Tuscaloser.

302 miles from Monroe to Tuscaloosa

348 miles from BR to Tuscaloosa.

Where are you getting your data from? Simply input both locations to Tuscaloosa on google maps. Are you stupid?

No, you're the one who's stupid. Very clearly, the question was regarding MONROE'S distance to either location respectively.

As usual, LSU fans blowing this out of proportion.

I grew up around BR, moved to Lafayette in 1997 and I'm still here.

My Brother In Law is a Professor at ULL and helps with Sports Marketing there. I'm good friends with the Alumni Director from ULL. I tailgate at Cajun Field with them a good bit when I'm not at LSU games or watching LSU on TV
My parents graduated from USL and received Masters Degrees at LSU. My wife has a degree from ULL. (Point being, I'm pretty well tied to ULL and some of the die hard Cajun fans)

Though a good amount are not LSU fans, NONE of them like Alabama, nor do they own any BAMA gear, stickers, caps etc to spite LSU fans. LOL

There's a decent amount of Lafayette athletes who attended BAMA because Alabama recruited them. I know of a few Lafayette people who played baseball & softball there. I saw a Univ of Ala. vehicle at Chipotle a few months back, likely recruiting. They go to school there because BAMA recruits pretty hard and LSU doesn't always offer them a scholarship. The stickers you see are usually the parents of these kids.
I agree that any BAMA sticker is a bad thing, but some people have legit reasons for supporting them.

Get over it.

2. The "fans" that just like to follow the best team. They're lifelong fans of X university....that is until they start losing. Today's Alabama fans were Miami fans 10+ years ago. Before that, they were Florida St. "die hards" recently converted from being Michigan fanatics.

I've never understood this ridiculous mentality. Why even follow the sport at all if you do this?

FWIW, the only time I saw this with my own eyes was in December of 2011 when a family of die hard Cajun fans in my neighborhood suddenly broke out BAMA gear the two weeks leading up to the NCG. Never once had they shown any allegiance towards BAMA...only USL gear.

Until those weeks leading up to that game...

I've been in Lafayette since the fall of 1988 when I came to school at USL. I've witnessed first hand the rise of "Cajun Fans" from a group that could not give two shits about any of their sports programs (even when they had fun players at the school like Brian Mitchell in Football and Aaron Mitchell, Kevin Brooks and Sidney Grider in basketball. ZERO fricks given. In fact, the largest crowds only showed up when the teams was playing a big name school (see Texas A&M game and BAMA games and a UCONN basketball game.)

Please ask him from this alumnus to fix the lettering at the gates near Taco Bell on Johnston Street where students kicked off the "Lafayette" part years ago. I get that they want it to be just Louisiana, but it looks like shite with the holes still visible where the lettering once was...

I was in Monroe last year for the Bama/LSU game and I saw just as many Bama tshirts/hats as I did LSU.

It was sad.

Hmm that's strange because I live here and I rarely, if ever, see anyone wearing Bama apparel.

Where were all of these Bama fans at?

Exactly. They don't have loyalties. They only want to be associated with what is in and cool and makes them look like they're winners too for associating themselves with them.

The family secret of modern American is mental illness. This explains a Louisiana resident who proclaims themself an Alabama fan. They are likely suffering from depression or some sort of chemical dependency as well. They are also 3X as likely to be fans of the Dallas Cowboys. They are like the hunchback in The 300, Judas Iscariot, Benedict Arnold, Fredo and that annoying cousin who wears a Yankees cap and talks about 27 World Series titles (except they have less titles, even counting the fake ones).

Jacques Doucet must not be old enough to remember that not THAT many people went to Curly Hallman teams. Jacques, MOST of LSU's 'faithful' are bandwagon jumpers. Everyone loves a winner, even if is Alabama...

Roll Louisiana!
