On its own it looks fine. On the front of the White House lawn it’s gaudy and looks terrible.

Watching the President walk down the lawn on/off Marine One was kind of an iconic American scene

It’s always annoyed me that official seals (of any kind….presidential, other offices, states) have printed on them “The Seal of….”) as part of the seal. That’s just stupid and redundant.

The usual gang of dipshits lost their fricking minds over this when it was announced, too.

They just don't like the idea of him having a lasting impact on the White House. When his term is over, they want every reminder of him gone.

Peter the Great's palace in St Petersburg. The entrance hall is covered in ornate gold, it is gaudy, and ostentatious, and scared the living shat out of visitors showing the power of Russia.

When history of the 21st Century is written, the helipad will require an entire chapter. It’s right up there with Teddy Roosevelt and The Panama Canal…

It's been new for the Voice if Retard crowd for awhile.

Almost as exciting as a ballroom.

Miltion Friedman had a great bit about this. It comes down to the 4 ways to spend money.

1. Spending your own money on yourself:
You are very careful with the cost and quality because it is your own money and you reap the benefit.

2. Spending your own money on someone else:
You care about how much you spend, but you are less concerned about what the other person gets.

3. Spending someone else's money on yourself: (Such as using an expense account)
You care about getting good quality, but you do not care as much about the price.

4. Spending someone else's money on someone else: (Such as government welfare or public spending)
Nobody sees this as their money, so nobody cares about the cost or the efficiency.

This thread is #4 demonstrated.
