We know Supers are best 2 out of 3 so we all know Skenes and Floyd will start the 1st two games. Question is which order?

IMO the only big deciding factor is potential rest got to CWS the rest would just be coaching preference.

Unequivocally Skenes first. Any other answer is wrong.

Why would the order of the 2 be in question. It will be Skenes then Floyd.

Jay fully trusts Floyd to be able to close it out assuming we win game 1 with Skenes. In basically every press conference he mentions how Floyd is undefeated this season and people don't give him enough credit.

In the Supers, you play to win every single game.

Skenes starts game 1, without question.

Why? You have to win 2 games against the same team?

Best possible foot forward, every game from here on out. That means throwing Skenes on Saturday.

Quit overthinking it.

This.

Going 1-0 in a 3 game series that, if lost, ends your season is a massive advantage. This isn't the regular season, I actually doubt they pitch backwards to us. You can't concede the first game.

I prefer Skenes to no hit Tennessee in Omaha.

To keep them on schedule. Skenes went this past Friday, Floyd went Sunday. Presumably Skenes will pitch the first game in Omaha and Floyd the 2nd game if we get there. So you keep that rotation going in the Supers.

In Supers you have win 2 games against the same team. LSU would obviously be trying to win both games. In fact someone NOT NAMED SKENES will need to beat Kentucky to go to CWS.

How would Floyd be conceding a game? Like I said in the original post the only real clear factor would be rest go to CWS. If rest is not a factor, it literally is a coin flip.

Correct, and they will in Game 2 or 3.

There is no rationalizing starting anyone but Skenes on Saturday, barring a weather situation where we know the game will get delayed early.

Ok so what is the difference if he pitches 1st game or second?

Skenes is the better pitcher. Best foot forward every game, like I said.

Should we start Riley Cooper game one in Omaha simply because he’d have to pitch at some point in the CWS for us to win it?
