2-6. Most likely 5.

I could see an argument for being ranked anywhere in the top 8 except 1. Not that it really matters. Just need to in the 8.

That series is already baked into the conference record though. Both are top 8, but interesting conundrum the committee has here specifically ranking these two.

The committee has consistently favored conference standings over RPI the last 4 years. The only exception was NC St last year when they had 8 non-conference losses.

Yes, I agree. But a head to head sweep is loud and I think that matters. Does it matter more than a 2 game conference lead when you’re splitting hairs? That’s the question, and even as an LSU fan I say yes.

On the flip side, the sweep is already baked into the conference record. If LSU would have won just a single game at Auburn, Auburn might not even get a national seed.

USM more than likely isn’t getting a Top 16 seed, much less #10.

Agree. We also seemed to be paired with UNC.

USM has had a good season and very solid down the stretch. NCAA wants to spread the wealth.

I don't think Oregon deserves a top 8 but I think the alternative is having 7 SEC teams in the top 8, which I'd be surprised if they did. 5 is alot, 6 is pushing it, 7 seems very far fetched. UNC is the only non-SEC team really worthy.

I think they’ll give the last one to Coastal or Oregon State

I guess the 8 could be Coastal or Oregon St or Clemson or FSU, but Ole Miss probably deserves it.

I feel like we get the 7, with Miami in our region, and paired with FSU. And I believe they'll give us a stiff 2 in our region. The BR regional will draw much more attention with a big test for LSU. If we get 3 cupcakes, nobody outside of BR will really give a damn.
