I'll start, McNeese friday night starter is a legit arm, he is top 10 in about every meaningful pitcher stat in d1.

Thought this might bring up some interesting discussion with regionals just around the corner.

If they are a 4 for us, then we’ll have to throw floyd

Unless a 4 seed has a first round caliber arm, I don’t care

Jacob Mayers Nichols St. 6'5 freshman from St. Amant.

92Ks in 62IP.. so the stuff is LOUD

control is a big issue tho at nearly a walk an inning

interested to see what Wes could do with him in the pitching lab if he decide to hit the portal.

You should.

I don’t think this team has an option though. It HAS to save Skenes and Floyd.

He is legit. Grant Rogers I think is the name. If they end up the 4 seed with us, he would make me rethink our pitching strategy.

Why? LSU has pitched it’s ace once in game 1 since 1999

Unless they’re trotting out Ben Sheets, I’m not concerned, and neither is Jay Johnson

If LSU can't pitch their #3 to win even with a good starter for a 4 seed they don't deserve to make it out of a regional.

Because he’s done such a great job with everyone not named Paul Skenes?

Their ace hasn’t faced LSUs lineup. Yes, his numbers are good, but won’t be the same v LSU.

Jay Johnson trotted out his ace last year in game 1 vs Kennesaw State

It was KENNESAW STATE. A team with a terrible pitching staff.

Actually Pros are wanting Jacob to transfer out to a Jucco so he can be drafted quicker. He waa hitting 83-85 two falls ago going into his senior season and by Jan he was up to 92. Now he is hitting 97.

And Hilliard gave up 5 runs in 2.2 IP.

Good stats but he hasn’t faced a P5 team all season

Did even face a CUSA AAC team pre conference.

Nicholls has a guy that’s up there too. Them and McNeese both have a Friday night guy that’s top 10 in the nation in ERA. If either of them make it out of the Southland conf tournament they could give us a game.

I’m guessing we’d pitch Floyd in the 4 seed game and Skenes in the drivers seat game and just have to win 1 game of 2 in the regional finals against a weaker teams bullpen. I like our odds.
