Who is the Fing moron that has decided over the last few years that during contra flow after a game we are going to stop all Highland traffic to let vehicles cross on Lee? Where the F are they going to go other than on down to the next three intersections of people trying to get off campus.

After a soft game, we should have been home in no time but we backed up all the way to the gates because every couple cars, they stopped traffic to let the Lee people cross.

I am sure Burbank and Nicholson had the same issues.

Nicholson was backed up too. No cars should cross Nicholson from campus to Bluebonnet. All the lights should be green and cops should be waving cars all the way down the street.

I went down Burbank and wasn't in position to make the turn at Staring, so I had to loop a bit to get on to I-12 at Essen...

Wasn't that bad of a drive and contraflow was in effect to the 4 lane split...

Agree with the OP about Highland and Lee.

I park and drive through the ghetto. Rarely have any major traffic issues.

Nope. Gotta limit it to one lane of traffic. You know, for safety and all.

is that because your vehicle is stolen during the game and you are walking home?

I tailgate south of the Tiger Stadium and leave on nicholson cut through to highland and through the ghetto on louise to get to I-10. Never have a issue but this game I decided to go out on burbank to lee and it was a cluster even a hour and half after the game.

I had a cop yelling at me to go on Nicholson but he wouldn't stop the people from walking in front of my car. What a worthless a-hole.

It was as bad as I have seen it. I stayed until the end of the game, had a bit to eat and a beverage as always. The parking lot was nearly empty and exit traffic looked to be flowing smoothly. Then Highland road happened.
Come on BRPD, at least try to move the traffic.

This^^^^^^^
I drove uber for a couple seasons and I always went in through the north of campus and out through the north of campus. Traffic is fast and flows smoothly. Even if you live off of Bluebonnet, etc you'll save yourself a couple of hours!
Btw, I live in Riverbend, so understand people having to get home post game. I, however, went north of campus and got on River Road all the way to Riverbend.

I said this after the game. Felt like there were more cars on the road than butts in the seats. There is a disaster looming if LSU and city officials implement whatever strategy they used Saturday night when the Auburn game rolls around.

The problem was, is, and will always be the lack of green light time allowed on major artery traffic signals directly off of campus.

How are hundreds and hundreds of cars supposed to flow when 100 yds up the road traffic lights are running on their normal 20 second intervals?

I have parked at McKinley High more than once. Other than the slightly sketchy walk, particularly back to the vehicle late, getting to 10 for the trip to Laffy is very easy via Delpit then E Washington.

I believe parking is the number one reason attendance is down with leaving the game number two.

We supposedly paid a consultant money to advise us, but we tried their approach and gave up.

BR cops and other agencies need to aggressively do their jobs and direct traffic and enforce contra flow.

Traffic planners should have had the parish upgrade the Lee/Nicholson intersection ten years ago.

An Eastbound ramp on Dalrymple should have been built 50 years ago.

Other major infrastructure improvements should have been done as the stadium and the tailgating grew, but little was done.

If your parking McKinley what time are you getting there. I must add if you are walking to and from through that area you have balls of steel.

Usually had spots there in the past for $25 just about up until the game, if i recall correctly. Typically, when you get there, you got groups of people you can walk with to campus. When walking back, if you don't linger too long you'll have at least a few folks walking back with you. Still feels a little unnerving though.
