It was obvious that the players had already practiced these new plays when the TE coach was able to make a gameplan that put 630 yards on an SEC team in 5 days.

Just a fact to consider when trying to define blame. With his firing, and CLM's of course, CLM had 5 OC's in his 11 yrs. including Jimbo. Pretty much speaks as to whose fault the lack of offensive imagination was over the yrs.

Ensminger is going to do everything in his power to get this kid to the combine/a workout.

Ensminger is auditioning for college OC jobs right now. Getting any of our players to the NFL combine isn't on his mind. If he's throwing to the tight end, it's because he thinks it will help us move the ball and help us score, not some ulterior motive to get the guy invited to the combine.

College coaches are paid to win college games. Period. The rest takes care of itself.

Again, not saying Cameron was a good OC but I think Miles hamstrung him.

no he was a bad OC.Besides running terrible plays he also was terrible at coaching execution of plays. Just a terrible all around hire. I think it was more of him being an anchor that helped sink Miles, not that Miles needed any help in that regard. Glad both are gone. At least Miles did some good things for LSU. Can't say the same about Cam

Possibly to a small degree but this is Cam. Pound the rock and throw deep. It was after Cam's arrival that we would throw deep when we faced third downs with manageable distance to cover. It's one of the reasons we couldn't move the chains consistently. We would attempt low percentage pass plays when we needed 6 to 9 yards for example.

We didn't utilize the middle of the field, slip screens, etc.

I think it is clear now how badly miles abused our talent. 08 burned him badly and then 1/9/12 finished him. He had an impressive death rattle that it didn't bottom out sooner.

Exactly. At this point I trust coach O's judgement. If cam was worth a shite at his job then I feel like Coach O would've let him do it. He got fired for a reason and it wasn't just because Les was holding him back.

I guess that validates the information that Miles supporters often relayed when we had a bad game. "Miles is waiting for hard times to open up the play book.

Finally, they are proven correct.

anyone that thinks cam is a good oc is insane. all they have to do is look at his correct. He has been pinked slipped over and over.

Also I think it is a bad idea bringing a pro oc in to coach college. its a way different ball game as far as how you can implement a system.

Miles changed in 2008

So to compare Jimbo to any OC under Miles since 08 would be unfair

Miles took over the play calling in 2008 as confirmed by former players and he's had a strong hold of the offensive philosophy and calling since that nightmare season

Now in 2013 with an NFL loaded offense lead by a senior qb he did open it up more

not really. That's just a myth propagated on here by Cam supporters for some reason. We threw the ball 38% of the plays in 2013. Not much different than any other year with Cam. Just looked better because we had Mett, Hill, Landry, and OBJ making great plays to bail us out of the terrible offense Cam had implemented. Still the offense didn't get much production. Still finished 7th in the SEC in total offense out of 14 teams with some of the best offense talent in the country.
