PMAC renovations OR new arena…..

We know CWW was pushing hard for new & better facilities for the men’s BB program—- and we have to assume CKM is pushing for the same on the women’s side.
Those of you “close to the program”, had stated that designs for a new arena OR major renovations were happening.
Is this STILL the case, now that men’s will take a few years to get back in the mix of an NCAA tournament?

We need a brand new state-of-the-art PMAC and don’t decrease the capacity.

Doubt it. Just don’t see the commitment to men’s basketball from this administration. Woody didn’t appreciate WW’s digs at the current facilities.
Women’s program may see some upgrades, but doubt that results in major arena upgrades or a new arena.

They’ve hired Populous to answer that very question.

Spot on. The Administration doesn't support basketball. They got what they wanted now. Multiple years of not winning and no expectations to win.

CWW getting the axe put all the new arena shite on ice. And that fricking sucks. I’ve loved the PMAC my entire life but it’s time for something newer and more modern like half the other schools have in the conference. This has easily set that back at least another 5 years.

Yeah, that whole new arena thing is going to be on hold for at least 2 years before the idea is brought up again. Maybe they can fix the hot water heater and roof leak on the practice court.

these administrators/ “leaders” —- think players will come play here just b/c there’s a Shaq statue out front & a cool tiger roaming next door ? BS.
IMO, basketball MUST have what football has, and what baseball finally has…. It’s own “all in one” facility inside or connected to a new arena OR massively upgraded/modernized PMAC.
Basketball Ops Center
- modern Locker room —- yes, with the “sleep pods” (LOL)
- player downtime area (video games, charging stations, food/beverage area)
- team workout facility / spa - rehab area
- practice courts
- coaches offices
- players families area (goes over HUGE with mamas of players!; saw these at BAMA)
- team theatre style film study / conference room
** Men’s and Women’s should have their own separate areas - all in the same center
New Arena/Modern Remodeling
- much more space outside of the court/ arena seating —- at Texas Tech’s UNITED ARENA, you can walk anywhere within the outside food concourse, and still see/hear the game (LSU’s PMAC is closed off —- and only a few monitors available)
- covered parking garage adjacent to the arena would be great!
- bathrooms that fit the 21st century (resort style)
- much, much better food options
- LSU gift & fan store INSIDE the PMAC — not just one (1) cubicle spot
- obviously, box seating and suites
- lower level should strictly be for students and Tiger fans with a pulse (let the rich, non-cheering fans stay in their suites)
- modern sound/video system AND abilities to attract musical acts
I’m sure there are others with ideas….let’s hear them!

Ima guess attendance for mens baasketball will be in the shitter for a few years…so any plans for a new arena are probably gonna be held up for a bit.

I've had one conversation with someone connected to hoops who's got some connection to the program. There has been ZERO communication from LSU to any big donors about the new arena. Now that doesn't mean it's not in the works.
Problem is getting approval is a complicated deal. And I think you will see another renovation before you see a new arena. You can't wait to build a new one till your winning. But you don't want to rush the building of a new arena that's going to need to last the next 50 years

Woodward put a stop to talks of remodel by firing Wade. Attendance will be down and it won’t make fiscal sense. Remember boosters are still paying Os buyout thanks to Scotty boy.

I went to a game at Nebraska's arena recently and it looked like an NBA arena. It really put LSU to shame facility-wise.
I really think LSU needs to tear down the PMAC and get something modern. Again, not every college has what Nebraska has, but damn. We have enough money to have that.

Part of the reason Woodward wanted to fire Wade so bad was so he didn’t have to build a new arena
He is a slimy pos

They started conversations about what they can do for the arena. If they can renovate or build a new one.
I think the best idea is to move the track and field by the baseball stadium and build a new arena there. Then that opens up the PMAC area for paid parking which we know LSU loves.

That check was cashed during the 2020 season.
On to the next.

You people are pathetic. Everyone of you that continue to shameless drop to your knees a perform for Will Wade need to quit LSU completely. Just go follow Wade where ever he goes and give up any support you ever had for LSU.

They should spend the PMAC reno money on changing the west side of Tiger Stadium. The brown brick is very ugly for such an iconic building. The other 3 sides look fine, but the most public-facing side of the stadium is an eyesore. They need to figure out a way to make it look more like the
colosseum theme.
