He was afraid the football program would get hit with significant sanctions if he didn't throw Wade to the wolves.

And wow, he sure saved the football program. They managed a Texas Bowl appearance. Both Les Miles and ed Orgerong were fired during Texas Bowl seasons.

He pays market. You people have no idea what you’re talking about. And McMahons buyout after this season is completely manageable by private money.

People pretending to know the exact motive/reason are lying. What we know from the Wade side via Wade’s statements is that he says he understands why it happened with the information present at the time. This hints to Woody believing LSU would suffer if Wade were retained and gives us some insight as to why. All the other theories about not caring or intent on always firing him and this just being an excuse to do it are speculation. It’s a fans nature to try and create villains and hero’s or victims in every situation but in this one the villain would be whoever was behind the NCAA witch hunt and smear campaigns, not Woody.

Because if he hadn’t fired him, the NCAA was getting ready to come out and sanction everything in LSU sports and drop the bomb on us including football

Wade won the SEC in his second season and was what, 41 when he was our coach?

He has a lot of years left and has shown he’s incredibly talented. But sure we can pretend he isn’t an excellent coach.

Wade will be 43 in November.

He should be rehired at LSU in March 2025

I was told this from several former players. Wade wanted everything about him. Players from the past were not actually welcomed . Some of them were big donors and they were going to stop if LSU didn’t part ways with Wade. Getting caught paying just made it even easier. Take it for what’s it worth but that’s what I was told.

When it comes to LSU sports, is the goal just to win SEC championships and not NC? Lol. GTFO.

He has not won a NC. That is a true statement. He was not going to win one at LSU. If he was successful, he would be poached by another school that values basketball over football.

You people are insane and thinking that he would stay here and win all these championships. Very delusional thinking process. Some need therapy for this. 3 years is way too long to not be over it.

I'm not talking about Alabama or any other programs. If you have a brain and can read, this topic is about why the previous coach was fired. No where have I mentioned other programs.

I said a true statement. The previous basketball coach has not won a NC. How many NC have those other programs you talk about won in the last 3 years?
