It's just kids these days. I listened to music a lot at that age as well, at least they do it with the buds in and keep it to themselves. Imho today's music is not so great.

As for the team aspect. Well, that's just dumb.

Have a great day.

ever play ball?
there is nothing to talk about at that point. they need to get in their own zone to play.

should they have a group huddle at that point and share feelings? this is a dumb take

you obviously have never played a team sport.

Think again. I played a sport for 2 years in high school. I also coach a travel ball team and we have banned headphones altogether. I don't even permit the parents to have them.

I have a hunch a lot of them might be listening to rap songs with inappropriate lyrics but that's besides the point.

As if rap music is the only music with "inappropriate" lyrics.

That's probably most ridiculous part of this ridiculous thread.

Oh no not bad words. As a society we have to stop putting so much power in words.

As for the topic. I don’t know if you know what young college kids listen to these days but it is for the best they keep it to themselves. It is garbage and they are going to listen to it anyway.

Obviously the OP has never played team sports, aside from childhood tball. Mental preparation. Getting their heads right for the game. Preparation for war. This ain't backyard football after a couple beers...

Does not promote a team dynamic. Looks as if each guy is in his own little world rather than than communicating with their teammates and coaches. How can you truly have one team and one heartbeat of every guy is isolating themselves and blocking out everyone else with their own music?

If they play better by getting in the zone however they want to, let them.

I would argue that this is most united LSU team I've ever seen.

100% agree. It would be different if they all had coach’s headsets on where they could all be communicating during warmups. Might would lose the “cool” factor, but this is business.

There are actual studies that show training with earphones and music improves focus and improves the results of the training session. Obviously they are not wearing them during during team practice but during workouts and warmups they are a benefit not an issue

But if they are ALL doing it, doesnt that mean they are all on the same page? Thus the one team, one heartbeat...
