Gonna sweep USC to get back in the mix, without Moore and Evans

That’s the only choice.

Down 2pitchers, and Brown, along with others… time for the young guys to get it done.

I feel like I read a day ago that Evans was good to go.
Is he being shut down for the season too?

Will be interesting to see if they move the friday game, the weather is iffy, its currently staying north of us.

Excited for Paz to get some opportunities

They said they feel good about where he is but he hadn't thrown yet and they weren't committing to pithing him this weekend.

It doesn't seem like it based on what they actually said.

But if we don't sweep this weekend, I'd guess he gets shut down.

The only way to get back in the mix is win the SEC tourney

Nah, I think if we finish 13-17, and get to the weekend in Hoover, we will be a 3seed in Corvallis or Los Angeles

Looking at the forecast, don’t see any way today gets played. Looking at the radar though, most of it looks north, so idk.

I’m thinking if LSU has won the first 2 games then there’s a good chance you see Evans on Sunday. If they lose one of them he may be done for the year. Who knows. This is just speculation.

That same thought has crossed my mind.

I'd be very surprised if we play today.

Incorrect. It will depend on this weekend. If we sweep, there are probably a couple of other pathways.

But the possibility of a run during the SEC tournament is probably as likely as winning seven of the last nine SEC games. I think that is the bar to getting into the postseason with a deep run in the SEC tournament.

7 of 9 means sweeping SCe, and winning both series or winning 1 @georgia or vs Florida and sweeping the other. While they are not impossible, they sound as improbable, or even less so, than winning the SEC tournament. Mostly because the better teams do not need an SEC tournament win to advance, and some coaches would effectively prefer to lose and sit it out to get the rest for banged-up players.

I hope we play tonight (even though the weather doesn't appear promising). Our record in doubleheaders against SEC competition in recent years is abysmal.

We could get swept by USC and they’ll keep saying next series will get us back in the mix.

It’s hard to sweep doubleheaders. And they have to have all three this weekend so I’m sure they’ll try to play tonight if possible. Looking at radar, would’ve seemed an 11 am or 12 pm first pitch might have offered the best opportunity to get it in

Jay said after the game that Evans was good. But he also used phrases like "nothing structurally wrong," which I'm pretty sure he said about Stanfield right before he missed a few weeks. Jay also said Moore would be out a couple of weeks, but immediately began coaching as if he knew he wasn't coming back.

In other words, Jay is cryptic af and won't give up much info on injuries as always. If Evans is good to go, we will see him this weekend. If we don't see him this weekend, I wouldn't expect him back this season.

If we have to play a doubleheader on Saturday and game 3 on Sunday, there’s little chance we sweep.

Down 2 starters and our 3rd starter has only given us 4-5 innings per outing. Can’t ask relievers to go lengthy outings and pitch in 2 games in 2 days.

Not sure we have the pitching to be competitive and ask relievers to pitch 23 innings in 2 days and sweep.
