I’d take a guy who can go five innings at this point.

LSU needs to go get some bulldog pitchers like him.

You mean a pitcher who is a Friday night ace with great out pitch. Yes when lsu won titles they had an ace.

When we lost to him earlier in the year I thought his performance was a fluke. The last 2-3 times out he had even better performances. He has 3 plus plus pitches and is definitely a bulldog. Great to see a Juco guy succeed at this level.

Big Ben used to give up home run after home run after home run…but struck out lots of batters in the regular season.

A "bulldog" pitcher is a battler, aka Chad Ogea!!

Of all the LSU pitchers I’ve seen, this is the guy who came to my mind.

Yep. Gave up a huge late game grad slam in loss to Stanford in the World Series. Ben was a great college baseball pitcher but not what would be called a bulldog. Coleman, Ogea and Nola were big time bulldogs.

Yep, I remember Skip describing Ogea as just that.

The type of pitcher who is usually referred to as a bulldog is a guy who typically finds a way to get deep into games even when he doesn't have his best stuff.

You see some guys who are on and just dominate. But when they are off they can't get through 2 or 3 innings. Bulldogs are guys that can get you 6 or 7 even on an off night because they know how to pitch and don't just rely solely on elite stuff.

What’s a bulldog pitcher? Lol Please define this

I know an attorney on this site that acts the same way you do.

Either asking you to further define a simple phrase, or stating that he cannot understand a sentence.

He’s a prick too.

So, is hilliard a “bulldog”?

Ive always equating it to the “it factor” when people like qbs but dont have a good reason why.

It usually means a lack of elite talent, but still producing

I wonder if we’ll even see Delucia in the championship series….surely it won’t be before game 3

No it wont be before game 3. If he pitches and wins game 3, that would be one of the most impressive cws performances by a pitcher, ever. Dude has thrown 114 on 6/18 and 113 on 6/23. Game 3 would be on 6/27.

If he pitches in game 3 it will be very minimal.

Monday would only be 3 days rest. I have no doubt he will pitch but Ole Miss expecting him to give you more than 3-6 outs is asking a lot.

I have seen 12 yo travel ball kids throw a hundo pitches back to back days. If the team needs it, you give it to them. Have the whole off-season to rest.
