even if this dude breaks it it will be pretty much meaningless, it's like saying you broke all of the all time scoring records on your 8' goal in your driveway against the neighborhood kids

Yes but history doesn't and records don't matter to these idiots. They only see the numbers not the particulars. What would have happened if Jim Brown had 17 games a season. Today's sack records touch down records are very tainted as well as others with the 16 games played for years.

What’s crazy is that Pete took 200 more FG attempts over a 3-year span than this kid has taken in 5!

He should still have the records for field goals and scoring average.

Yeah, who would have guessed that coaches sons would have success?

I'm not sure how this is a rebuttal to anything I said.

Given that the number of players in college basketball that end up playing for their fathers is about .000000000000000000000000001% of the population, and most of those are walk ons that don't play much, to see the top two scorers in the history of the organization be the sons of their head coach is genuinely weird.

It's already rare to see the head coach's kid be good enough to play. McDermott, McCaffery, the kid from Georgia State a few years ago. They're already the exception.

I didn't say anything regarding the quality of coaches' kids in general. But you keep tilting at that windmill.

His record is NOT in jeapordy. His record is 3,667 points in 3 years with no 3 point line. THAT IS THE RECORD. IT IS NOT BEING BROKEN regardless of what the media is saying.

Why are so many people being this way

Advantages and extra years obviously play a HUGE factor. But he’s got a great chance to break Pete’s record whether you like it or not.

Good for him. I imagine his team will force-feed him the ball until he gets the record.

How insane was Pete though. It took this kid 5 years to accomplish what Pete did in 3.

Records are meant to be broken and career records are especially vulnerable.

Even if the career record falls, his single season scoring record is still nearly untouchable without the NCAA adding a bunch of games to the season.

When I want an example of the epitome of college basketball power and excellence, I automatically go straight to Detroit Mercy and the Horizon League...

It’s funny how HR records are not argued by at bats, or pitching records by innings pitched. He will have more points than Pete. It’s a record.

Petes scoring avg. of 44 pts per game for 3 straight seasons will stand for another 50 years.
