Earl The Pearl, Bob McAdoo.. and many more.. If you pay attention, you will see a young Phil Jackson stumbling around out there...

A few notes after watching him drop 68. No 3pt line. He barely ever hit the rim on made shots. Dribbled around dudes like me vs my 6 yr old. Palmed the ball like Jordan would do. Was ahead of his time with his ability to pass. And he fouled out. That tells you he was an all out baller. Thanks for link

There is no other like him.

He has 2 records in college ball that will never be broken. 44.3 ppg and total points.

Walt “Clyde” Frazier couldn’t stop him that night. He fouled out on a charge call that was BS. The basket went in and would have given him 70. That Knicks game set the record for scoring by a guard with 68.

Dale used to say if you want to break Pete's ppg all you need to do is hit 15 3's every game you play.

Clyde Frazier was an All Time Great defender. He was BEGGING for help. Monroe told him to not look for help from him. None of them wanted him.
The passing at 6’5-6” was what was really impressive. He wasn’t stiff like Magic. He was smooth in everything he did.
He was water.

Pete was given a car, clothes, three meals per day and a room to live in by his college head coach!
Why does LSU always cheat?!?!

Not to take anything away from Pete (because very few other guys were scoring 68), but it’s incredible just how little effort everyone played with. Particularly on defense where it looks like it wasn’t just optional, but discouraged

The FBI should have wiretapped the Maravich household to expose this treachery.

Shouldn't have fouled out and this was pre-3 pt shot, a couple of those fouls on him were bullshite

I was there that night. Also guarding him was Walt "Clyde" Frazier, a defensive specialist. Pete could have scored a few more but they fouled him out on a bogus charging foul.

His father was the coach, so….

I can't imagine what his point total would be with a 3 point line. I've always wondered that.

I kind of remember that Dale charted all his shots, and figured out how many would have been three's. I remember them talking about it on TV when Dale was coaching. I don't remember what the total was though.

I believe it was 13 additional points per game
