John Ferguson, voice of the Tigers put the game rigjt in your living room.

And i loved the fact that when there weren't a lot of LSU games on TV yet, John would always just before opening kickoff as they were lining up give the listeners a description of the uniform of both teams. Opponent always first. "Ole Miss wearing their red jerseys, gray pants with the red, and blue striping down the side, blue legging, and powder blue helmet. And the Tigers wearing their familiar White jersey with gold pants purple and white striping down the side with purple legging, and gold headgear. Standing deep at the goal line for the Tigers to receive the kick is .......John Ferguson always got you ready. Loved hearing him.

"Burrow with the snap, here comes the blitz. Burrow steps away from it, throws, CATCH MADE, Justin Jefferson has it at the 38 racing down the far line, sideline, 10...5... TOUCHDOWN TIGERS. 61 yard touchdown reception. The Longhorns released in the offensive backfield, Burrow stepped to his left and then almost with a jump, able to toss it up. Jefferson has it at the first down but said "I'll take it on to the house."

Same here.
Jim Hawthorne continued this, and Chris Blair does this, too. Right down to using the term "head gear." A GREAT LSU tradition. And, if Chris doesn't do it, Doug Moreau will.

YES! Thank you for putting a video to what I listed as my moment. I try and tell people now how loud TS used to me, how absolutely chaotic the student section was. I tell people there were some drives and games that you could scream at the top of your lungs and not hear yourself....I think most think it's hyperbole....its not. shite in this video the band is RIGHT there and you can barley hear them blaring pregame......those were the days

And am I dreaming or did John Ferguson also give very brief announcements during the game? I swear I can remember him doing the old " there is a 1969 Malibu in the parking lots with the lights on......and the engine running!".

And "Alexander carries for 7".

Maybe I'm remembering someone else.

I don't know about Ferguson giving those messages on the radio, but Sid Crocker regularly gave them over the PA system in Tiger Stadium.
