Maybe if he gave some effort and didn't shy away from contact he would have been used more...

THis.

And I fail to see why his route running and blocking were not in display at LSU.......They should have been. Is he saying he didn't block or run routes?....Wait, maybe I agree with huim.

Actually, if you read the entire article, the quote comes off *a little* differently. He was referring specifically to the NC game, and complaining that the team didn't use many of the plays they worked on. (We've heard this before, so there must be something to it.) That was obviously frustrating for him and the other receivers, all of whom were under-used in that game.

On the other hand, he acknowledged that the offense was geared to the run and that we won a lot of games with that philosophy. You could interpret this as him saying simply that LSU's(usually successful) offensive philosophy didn't really call for much from the TE and thus didn't allow him to show his talents to the fullest. Of course, a brusing RB on a pass-first team might make the same complaint.

Peterson isn't the first talented tight end LSU has under utilized in recent years and likely won't be the last. Richard Dickson immediately comes to mind.

Color me shocked that the rantards try and imply that the players have hated Miles for 4 years. The him reuban and shep stuff was all in reference to the NC game and I dont think anyone isnt disappointed with the offensive playcalling in that game.

I think this quote says it all

quote:

"But we were a run-offense first. Do what we can to win the game and if running was the way we were going to win the game that's how we were going to win the game: running and play good defense. I showed them in different games what I can do. Games where I couldn't do nothing because the ball wasn't coming my way I didn't play that much. But in big games I did show up: I showed them I could catch, I showed them I could block, I showed them I could be a tight end in the NFL."

He didnt get as many touches as he would have liked. I can understand that, but he also has had some opportunities and made a lot of those times. We have had a lot of weapons over the past 4 years and when qb play is an issue you have limited times. Giving more shots to Dlo gives less shots to Reuban and OBJ. I would have liked to see him more but it happens.

But of course no one is saying that. That's hyperbole and you editorializing. We did mention that the players were frustrated and unhappy with the way the offense was run and that's clear from reading the article.

24-3 last two years, two top 10 finishes, sure we wasted LOTS of talent...

Out of those 24 wins, several times we won in spite of ourselves and many times we won without gunz-a-blazing. So, yeah, we wasted lots of talent.

I think Peterson had a poor year when he was in. I remember a few passes bouncing off his shoulder.

This. He was talking about Jan. 9th in particular. After two weeks I had almost put the whole thing out of my mind, but this article brought it all back. It is mind boggling how fast Miles went from the penthouse to the outhouse. He was 60 minutes away from completing arguably the greatest season in the history of college football, and certainly the greatest in the history of LSU. 60 minutes away from becoming unequivocally the greatest coach in LSU history and possibly getting buildings named after him. 60 minutes away from being perpetually irreproachable against fan criticism. And 60 minutes away from a huge contract bonus.

He must have really loved Jordan Jefferson.

sorry but when you did have your chance you were not always on...film don't lie, you took a while to develop. Good luck in the future though.

You're a Douche . The man just answered a question that was asked to him . He is right , he is going to have to show what he can do there because he didn't get the chance while at LSU . Whats wrong with honesty ? I am guessing you have never played a down of football in your life .

This has just been a bad 4 years of offense with two unreliable, unstable QBs.

If next year is not more consistent or better in the offensive side of the ball, then I will be concerned.

Peterson had a nice over the shoulder catch from J Lee 30+ yards in the opener vs Oregon...I was hoping that was a sign of things to come..this year's breaK-out player on "O"...

Guess it was not meant to be...it's like he disappeared on the field at times.

Maybe he can be an undrafted rookie-free agent for the Saints vying for Jimmy Graham's back-up spot?? Or maybe bounce around on a practice squad??
