I don’t think you’re paying O’s buyout then negotiating with another coach in that $8mil range. Cause they are going to need a significant raise

I wouldn't call going big...Fisher, Franklin or Kiffin. That sounds like absolute cancer. If Woodards other hires are any indication, I'm going to put my money on Dabo Swinney as the first call. Yes, Clemson isn't great this year, but I'm going to guess he gets first consideration. What would be funny is if he called Saban, but he is too old and entrenched at Alabama. Dude is bigger than Bear now. If I'm putting $100 on someone today, I'm going to tell you someone you're not suspecting...Brian Kelly.
Hahahahaha!
You’re insane.

Dabo?
The problem with Dabo Swinney is if he does great things here over 5 to 10 years. He will be ready to slide into a vacant job at Alabama when Saban finally retires. Me no likey

I think it will end up being Brian Kelly if the job comes open. He makes under $2M right now.
This is bullshite. He’s only publicly reporting $2M. And he’s not leaving

More likely is that LSU is just not denying it. Kind of like when reports started to come out after the Ole Miss game in 2015 about Miles potentially let go and LSU not really denying the veracity of those reports.
Regardless of what eventually happens, LSU has one of the strongest selling points of any job in America. It is the ONLY program in America who can say that over the last 20 years they have had THREE different HC's who had done nothing of huge note prior to taking the LSU job come in and win a National Championship within 4 years. Even Saban just had average success at MSU (until his final season) prior to taking the LSU job.
If it happens once you can attribute it to the coach. If it happens twice you can say maybe the school just got fortunate and "hit" on back to back hires. If it happens three times then you have to say it's the program...not the coaches. Is it guaranteed the next guy will come in and, once again, repeat the feat? Of course not. But the odds seem to suggest it is more probably than not that he will.

Brian Kelly makes 4M a year, you offer 6M and leverage O's buyout down. Even if you're paying 10M buyout over 5 years, you're still not eclipsing your original budget...8M a year.

Excellent write-up and I hate Pete.

There is conflicting information. Some say 1.9, others say 4M.
They said the same thing with Kim Mulkey. Same with Jay Johnson. I told you who I think it will be...disagree? Fine. It's early. I just think he fits the mold.

Please stop
Bryan Kelly sucks arse. He can barely recruit and his offense is archaic.

What a statement. Damn that's rare to read.

My initial reaction to Kelly is repulsion, but he actually grows on me the more I think about it.

Yeah that line juiced me up, just the type of stuff I need to read to get me through the next two months.

There is no way Brian Kelly is only making $4mil per year.

If you think Orgeron will go quietly, remember he quit on USC as the interim and threw a temper tantrum when he didn’t get the full-time job. Orgeron knows only bull rushing.
Basically saying, this will get ugly on and off the field before this is over and we get to fully turn the page from this chapter.

He was making 1.9 until his 2020 extension which was not disclosed. If you think they quadrupled his salary, then by all means but the consensus is that he is underpaid by the market.
