All he has to do is not conduct "business" over the phone and not have accounts traced back directly to his name.

The whole key is if he can recruit like Wade.
Let's hope not.

Not jumping for joy but not mad either. Kind of going to take a wait and see approach. Hopefully McMahon comes in and establishes himself well with existing players, recruits, lost recruits, new recruits and transfer portal guys as needed.

You think any of the recruits and current players stay?

But you can never know how these mid-major coaches are going to translate to a bigger job
true, but what we DON'T want is a mid-major coach who's only had one good year. That could just be a flash-in-the-pan.

McMahon has been at Murray State for 7 years, an either won his conference outright or tied for the championship in 5 of those 7 years.

.697 overall winning percentage
.750 in conference

That's a very good history over a number of years and recruiting classes.

he played in the NCAA Tournament in 2000 for Buzz Peterson vs Ohio State.

Interesting. I was at their game Saturday and they thought they were losing him to Missouri.

Considering that’s what everyone’s been doing. Not that simple. You need something to stand out. Kids loved playing for WW

I’m hoping he can recruit some shooters. LSU has none.

I don't know anything about him, so I'll wait until he loses 1 game before saying we should fire him.

That’s the hope. I can see guys like Efton, Gaines, Shareef and Colbert staying. Hopefully NCAA makes their decision soon on the punishments and we can move on from this stuff. But Murray State was a well coached basketball team for many seasons under him. And don’t forget, Wade came from a mid major as well

Good choice on coming down to Baton Rouge, mayne and putting on that yella coach's fleece, mayne.
Let's give a big TD welcome to Mary and Matt.

I am hopeful, he has a good track record at Murray St, and was able to do that in Kentucky's back yard.

Murray St. is always good. Every one of their coaches since like the early 90s has had some measure of success. I'm not sure what amount of their recent success could be attributed to McMahon, but I'm going to choose to be optimistic. At least he's a young guy and not some retread like Andy Kennedy.
