He was our best pitcher because he could come in and get 6 outs with a 97 mph fastball. That does not translate into a starter. Again, especially after CPM tried that at the CWS and he was clearly tired after 3-4 innings and only throwing 91

LSU picked up a transfer today: Clay Moffitt.

Did you not watch him pitch in his few midweek starts this season? He had some very good outings.

After throwing how many innings in a week?

Hess is the best pitcher left and he will start next year in Saturdays

And this would have prevented him from having to have surgery? You think if he wouldn't have pitched that the ligament would have just fixed itself??
And you think it was a good idea for him to pitch with torn ligaments? Do you think pitching helped his ligaments or just maybe increased the severity of the tears.

Are you saying he pitched knowing he had torn ligaments?
I believe what was reported was that he felt soreness one outing, then didn't feel it the next. He threw before the CWS and felt soreness in his forearm after pitching, then felt fine a few days later. He also felt fine through 2 innings in the CWS.
If he would have had torn ligaments then he wouldn't have been pitching at all, whether he wanted to or not. You don't throw a baseball 90 mph with a torn ligament in your elbow.

Do you suggest we scan everyone with arm soreness
Christ, pitchers have arm issues. Trainers assess them and we move on.
People here were bitching he may have too much rest. Obviously posters here have zero insight to when his issues developed

He told the coaches he felt fine, they should assume he is lying?
What is the appropriate action Alex. I'll take dumbass coaching decisions for $400
The kid is a 19 yo in the cws you think he's going to hand the ball off?
Paul screwed with the kids livelihood

So now the 2 idiots in here are getting on their alter accounts to help support their idiotic argument.

I was fine with him "resting" because I knew he'd still be pitching in simulated games. But I thought it would help keep him fresh.

In no way is that decision related to his current injury. He still would have thrown. He still would have eventually tore the ligament. People who think otherwise (Atlanta) are really dumb.
