My favorite part about this conversation is that people are acting like we haven’t had massive fat interior lineman for years that get blown off the ball. We aren’t really risking anything trying this guy, it’s not like we have been super successful recently with the really heavy guys.
There is such a thing as good weight and bad weight, you can’t just go by the scale.

Henry Thomas 6'2" 277
John Randle 6' 1" 287
Aron Donald 6'1" 284
All highly successful at the same size

The person I responded to was referring to his height.

We should finally have a decent DT rotation. He won’t be playing 60 snaps a game, size doesn’t matter.

This is huge. Let him stay fresh and explosive and disruptive. I can’t wait to watch it.

Disagreed. He’s gonna start, and play a lot. Just keep a big DT out there next to him, they can’t double team both Gooden and Dom/Guillory. I’d be willing to bet Breaux is the one who rotates in at Goodens spot as they’re both lighter and quicker
Disagree with you. Even if he starts the nature of college football today for defensive lineman is rotational. A few guys will play and Gooden will be fresh.

you are going to be the first one to cry when he isn't getting 2 sacks a game

PFF ranked him exceptionally high among returning interior defenders for the 2025 season, giving him an 88.4 overall grade, which was the second-highest at his position. His run-defense grade was also stellar at 86.8
