People who want Miles to stay at all costs are in the minority- yep
People who hope LSU becomes more competitive in their most important games than they have recently- pretty sure it's a big arse portion of the fan base.

Agreed. I'm in the boat where I want a change at head coach of we can get an upgrade. I don't want to fire Miles and have coaching search because I have no faith in Alleva.

If Miles can't get the team to perform better against the Bama, Ole Miss, and Arkies of this conference next year, LSU is going to be in a bind.
Hiring Alleva was a huge mistake made by the school. I agree Alleva will probably frick it up if he has to make a change after next year... but I don't want LSU to go the Mack Brown route for fear of not finding someone better.

My wife's grandfather basically told me the same thing. He is a Bama fan too. Pulls for LSU because of me and the fact that he is just a nice man but I think he likes LSU more now because of Miles.

Paw-Paw never said he was an LSU fan, he said he was a Les Miles fan. My stance has been that people who do not embrace the importance of winning, love Miles. Those, like me, who think that winning is 95% of a high paid college coache's job, want him to improve or leave.
But I respect people who view it differently.

I don't care how he wins, I just want him to win. I don't care if he has to do a voodoo ritual and sacrifice a virgin (good luck finding one) before every game to win. He can throw the ball, run the ball, kick field goals until the kickers foot falls off, just WIN.
I have never seen ANYONE post ANYTHING after we wipe the field with an opponent say, " yeah but we ran/threw the ball too damn much".
