single A and rookie is equal or in many cases below the SEC. I would say just about every SEC starter can fit in with those leagues.

AA is where it’s real.

I've always thought that the SEC was on level with Class A ball

The SEC isn’t remotely close to any full season class A classification. Crews and Skenes being phenomenal enough to do very well in A ball immediately doesn’t mean that a bunch of guys who got drafted and progressed past rookie ball are worse than guys who weren’t good enough to get drafted period. There are a ton of drafted SEC guys who never make it past A ball and have to retire

Yup. Some guys make the jump to the bigs. A ball weeds out a lot of players. AA ball is a different world from what Skenes is used to. He’ll adapt and be successful. But you aren’t dominating those guys from jump street.

Cade Doughty is still in High A, hitting 0.260. Professional baseball is hard. Really hard.

Apparently those locations are input manually. I wouldn’t necessarily trust those..

It was a tight strike zone. He had about 6 pitches just miss off the plate. One of the hits was ground ball that went under glove of an infielder.

Remember the warning Crash Davis gave to Nuke LaLoosh. I forget the exact words, but it was something like "Those big league hitter are going to light you up at first. Don't worry about it." Skenes just got the first taste of what it's like to go up a level in pro ball. He'll be OK....

Damn. The percentage of pitches on the corner of the plate is insane.

He had to pipe it to get a strike.

I was excoriated for saying he would have trouble in AA/AAA ball.

Guys thinking Crews and Skenes would cruise on through the minors like nothing and be in the show by September were out of their mind.

Yes, Skenes got squeezed a little bit, but what also happened is the professional hitters didn't swing at those pitches. It's just growing pains, nothing to be alarmed about. His fastball and slider were grading out on the level of Gerrit Cole while he was at LSU

Was it 3 or 4 ER?

The 4th run was scored on a wild pitch from his reliever, would that be earned?

Why do you not have any downvotes for asking this question?

This. There was one other goof too that earned him no favors thanks to the in field.
