So, if Pawl knows ball, how do you explain last place in the SEC halfway through the season?

He tries ‘hard’ , so maybe he needs a kiss, a hug, and a participation trophy.

My bad, LSU is in a 12th place tie with Mizzou.

Sounds so much better than 14th place.

Thank goodness eaTme & Aub are as bad as they are.

Yall may not remember this but in 2008 LSU was 6-11 in the SEC. Things were bleak. All of you fairweathers turned on Paul. Thats when Paul and the die hards said "Its time"

23 straight wins later there we sat at the top of the baseball world.

The bandwagon filled up the next year but me Im glad its emptying off. Time to separate the sheep from the goats. The wheat from the chaff.

Adam, unless this was an attempt at sarcasm on your point, this is a really bad post.

I'm am so sick of people bringing up 2008. First of all, nobody was calling for Mainieri's firing in year two. That's just a lie to try to win a point. Second, we're not 6-11, we're 4-11. Third, that team never looked this lifeless. We saw the flashes, but the pitching was just not there. Then, with some patchwork in the pitching staff and an insanely talented and young lineup that caught fire, they went on a once in a generation type of run. Think about how rare that is. Did the 2010 team go on that run? No, they started hot, and then went in the completely opposite direction. What about 2011? Missed the postseason, altogether. 2018? No. Why should we expect that any time LSU gets off to a bad start, or goes through any extended rough stretch, that they're going to go on an historic run? I'm all for not giving up, but my eyes don't tell me the same story as they did in 2008.

This team was said to have three legitimate weekend starters, to start the year, supposedly a great closer, and some highly touted freshman arms that we don't always get to campus. Outside of two pitchers, everyone has been either not very good, or really bad. Some flashes, here and there, but none of them have been anything close to reliable. The offensive approach has been terrible all season, just swinging for the fences. I thought that approach had changed after last weekend, but it resurfaced this week, and we saw the result. That isn't the sign of a team improving. That also isn't the sign of a coaching staff that is paying attention. It's all about "my philosophy, or no philosophy". No adjustments.

This isn't 2008. There aren't enough guys in this lineup with potential that that lineup had to bust out and carry a team with two good pitchers. Jared Mitchell was a first rounder, Ryan Shimpf and Matt Clark made it to the big leagues. Clark hit 28 home runs, Shimpf had a gazillion extra base hits and went on to have a 20 homer season the next year. Blake Dean was an All-American with huge numbers across the board, including over 20 homers. DJ Lemahieu is a multi-time MLB batting champ. We had guys like Micah Gibbs, Sean Ochinko, Leon Landry and Michael Hollander who were the "lesser" players at the time. Of course, Gibbs, Landry and Ochinko had outstanding years after that.

Where's that depth on this team? I don't see it.

I thought this was going to be a funny joke. Lol. You appear serious- or maybe trolling. Either way a disappointment.

This is his 15th season as the team's manager. That's plenty enough time.

Somehow he needs to just get the message out more effectively: I'm really a good coach!

Look at the last 3 or 4 years and it is painfully apparent that we have talent, been ranked #1, at one point. Within the first 10 - 15 games we are out of competition.

He's got to go!

Have talked to several former players while in AAA ball down in NO. Just about everyone of them said they got the most knowledge of baseball from summer ball (while in college) and in the minors. Baseball in college was more like vacation time. Once you get drafted, it's no longer for fun, it is a job.

While that team had showed promise before that 23 game winning streak, this current team has not shown even a glimmer of hope that they could win half of the remaining games

PM is LM clone and LSU is doing exactly what they did with LM. It is the LSU way....just wait it out sports fans...it will happen some day. Meanwhile, enjoy mediocrity.
