I live in the Houston area and thus will be heading west after the game. It seems the Dalrymple/U-High/Law School area is not a bad place to park, in terms of being able to get on I-10 West relatively quickly. I don't mind a long walk to and from the stadium - or paying $20 or so for a spot.

Thanks in advance.

My usual spot over the years has been on River Road in an old parking lot belonging to the university that backs up to the vet school.

Park somewhere by the north gates of campus. Just don’t venture too far toward dead presidents.

That is a good spot. There are two churches (1 Presbyterian and 1 Lutheran I think) right past the light at state street on each side that usually sell spots day of game. There is another church (Methodist) down the road that only sells season passes for parking so stop at one of those first two if you can't find a parking pass. Used to be $20.

You can get parking passes from LSU for $30 if you look online. Union Garage is on that side and looks like they have slots. I get a season pass for the garage each season (not renewable, you have to buy one each season). We live in Lafayette so head the same way you do.

State Street
Chimes
Churches on Dalrymple
The U High/Law School gets packed early and it’s a nightmare getting out after.

Before I became totally fed up and bored with the entire "LSU Game Day Experience", parking behind the Law School was my every game location to get in and out quickly after the game. (And I'm one of those that refuse to leave early)

You have to get there a little early though, because those spots fill up quickly. After the game, you flow right onto Dalrymple and take a right onto I-10 West right after you go under the I-10 overpass there by the Lakes. Reading on here about the current traffic clusterfrick, the traffic idiots might have shut down entry to I-10 West there at that point for all I know, just because it's convenient and makes sense........

There is no bigger rip-off than buying a parking pass from LSU for a football game. Doing this pretty much guarantees that you will be stuck in traffic after the game.

Like others have said, everything around UHigh/Law Center fills up very early. I've found spots near the Rec Center even when pretty late though.

Depends on when you plan on getting to the site to park. It amazes me every week when somebody complains about parking and only left the house and hour or two before KO. I get to LSU about 6hrs early and get my spot. Anything under 4 hrs early and you will not have much choice.

Someone at our tailgate told me to take I110 to 190W then I49S back to I10. We tried it and it was a little longer miles wise but only 10 - 15 minutes longer time wise.
No traffic after heading west on 190. Enjoyed missing I10 west out of Baton Rouge.

90W

It is US 190W - not 90W. That is a good alternative to keep from getting jammed up on the high rise if there is a wreck.

Thank you all for the replies and advice. I ended up getting to campus around 10:15am (for the 6pm kickoff) and parked on the shoulder of Dalrymple by U-High (facing away from campus). After the game (I stayed until the end of the 3rd quarter), I was on I-10 heading west in less than 15 minutes.
