Outrageous moments in Tiger Stadium history?

The time in the mid 80's when I got excited and accidentally slung a stadium cup full of bourbon over an entire Boy Scout troop should count for something. Mrs Otis was so proud of me.

They were probably licking their lips with smiles on their faces...

1988 Miami game:

I believe it was the first Miami score of the 2nd half (after the rain had slacked off a bit) when a whisky bottle came flying out of the stands landing in the north end zone. A very upset and frustrated Eric Hill proceeded to pick it up and hurl it right the frick back into the stands. I remember thinking how glad I was not to be on the receiving end of that throw.

Also in '88, I saw a fan fall from the old upper west into the lower west stands. Can't remember which game that was, Kentucky maybe.

Yeah, around the late 90s and early 2000s instead of throwing extra point balls back to the opposing student managers, students started passing the ball up the student section and over the top.

I think it was '01. UF was kicking the shite out of LSU and it had monsooned all day. The student section just got fed up late and threw the ball out of the top of the stadium. It quickly started a tradition, which was quickly followed by a net being placed behind the N. Endzone goalpost

1. I saw two elderly (easily 75+) men get in a fist-fight two rows down from me over a woman under couldn't have been under 65 years old. It was the slowest fight I've ever seen.

2. A week after LSU's huge upset over UF in 1997, Ole Miss came to town and kicked LSU's arse in an 11:00 am game. It was one of the most deflating losses I can remember. Sometime in the 4th after another Ole Miss score some guy a section over just had enough of watching the OM cheerleader run up and down the sideline with and OM flag. That a-hole threw a full large coke from 35 rows up at the cheerleader. Unfortunately he didn't have quite enough arm and hit an old lady in the first row who looked like Barbara Bush in the back of the head. The blow caused her to "Pete Rose" out of her seat onto the ground. Her son was pissed, and that poor old lady spent the rest of the game cleaning coke out of her ear

A lot of these moments occurred in Tiger Stadium and were seen by many. This event was seen by several thousand people and it might have been the earliest recorded STTDB moment.

As a sophomore in 1979 I lived in the East Stadium dorms. It really wasn't that bad - there was no A/C but you got what had been a 4 man room to yourself and could let yourself into the stadium, through well disguised illegal openings, late at night and lay on the grass at the 50 yard line. That grass was so soft! Our rooms overlooked the opposing team entrance. Determined to do something special for the USC game we took three 15 foot long carpet tubes and lashed them together, placed a bucket on the end and covered the whole thing in paper mache and painted it flesh colored. Appropriate, artistic flourishes were added. Two brown paper "Schwegmann" bags were filled with paper, covered with black painted Spanish Moss and attached to the end opposite the bucket. On game day, in full view of the arriving Trojans our prop was poked out of the third floor bathroom window along with a sign - "Suck on this USC!" The campus police discovered our creation long after it caused a major stir. With great difficulty three policemen removed it and carried it to the nearest dumpster. The yearbook staff took pictures of the police toting the huge phallus but sadly they never made it to the yearbook. We all moved on to professional careers and forgot about the episode.

Years later someone mentioned this to me as one of the most unusual and hilarious things they had seen at an LSU game. Imagine their surprise when I told them I had done it.

Yes, I wasn't in the student section in 2001, but I do remember the UF game where all of their many extra point balls found their way over the top of the north endzone. The next year the nets were introduced.

1997 Florida Gator Sign did not go as planned
Student section steals Work 'em Silly sign from 2 Gator fans and rips it to shreds. DreadDub
We always rehash the story here of the 1997 Florida game and the guy who brought the big Gator sign over by the student section and it got stolen. He looked to the cops for help and they just laughed at him. Choupique19

Ahh yes, that guy. Remember that well.

You're thinking of 1999.

Best thread I have ever read on td.com

2007 Auburn- my ex-gf hooks me up with two 40 yard line "blue blood" tickets. My friend and I give up our south end zone cheap seats to my Auburn friend and his wife. We show up in the real seat backs/expensive seats for the first time ever absolutely hammered. The elders don't like us. We comment incessantly about demetrius Byrd in pregame warmups making these incredible one hand catches like they were nothing.

Fast forward to the end of the game...we seem to be running the ball to set up a long kick to win the game when Flynn drops back...lofts one up to the endzone...Byrd one hand catches to win the game with one second left.

stadium errupts...blue bloods hug us commenting we called out bird's one hand catches in warmups.

The drive back home to new Orleans with my Auburn friends was priceless.

The "Auburn Whistle" play was great. One of the Tiger defenders trotted into the backfield and bodyslammed Nix, old school WWF-style. Twillie picked the last pass off right in front of me. Was that "Bring back the magic" or "Let the valley shake?"

Another crazy thing that happened during the 2001 Auburn Eye Stomp Game: I remember tailgating near the Ceba Building, and this Auburn superfan with a van that had an enormous tiger tail attached to the back was driving through. When I saw it, I remember thinking, "This guy better have thick skin." After the game, I remember walking back to the tailgate, and seeing that tail burned to shreds, with nothing but the frame, in the middle of the street.

Damn, I'm sorry I missed it. I spent the afternoon getting thoroughly soused and I guess we arrived after it was taken down.

I do remember the "Beat the Condoms" sign right over the student gate, though.
