I'm genuinely curious how many of you played football growing up?

The number one rule for a DLineman is "Don't let them get their hands on you". Those of you screaming for years that Bama gets away with holding have no idea what you're talking about. An olineman having a firm grasp between the shoulder pads is NOT holding. There was ONE missed holding call that I saw all game on Bama, LSU actually got away with 2-3.

Point is, LSU lost because they couldn't score. Period, end of discussion.

Down vote away.

The crying about officials is embarrassing. LSU gets just as many non calls as Bama does but some choose to think there is some great conspiracy.

Yes we got screwed on the Peterson interception. I know I know.

I think most people get that. However, go back and watch how many times Key gets the edge on the OT and the guy has his arm around Key's shoulder and neck as he gets past him. They called it once, but it happened multiple times.

I'm not making excuses or saying it's the refs' fault. It's just the reality of the situation.

You can hold in football but when you have a qb scrambling in the opposite direction and you don’t let the defender free that is holding.

I saw Key dragged down by the shoulder pads several times. However, there are penalties uncalled on almost every play by any team.

The only time I saw it was on the next play after it was called the first time. He did get mauled and it didn't get called.

Other than that, they were giving a little to both sides. LSU got away with more than Bama did.

The comments/post after this game solidified that we are the most delusional fan base in America.

It's always the refs fault, It's not our QB fault, it's not our defense fault, It's not the coaching, it's not Orgeron's fault, ESPN hates LSU, Herbstreit doesnt respect LSU, Gary Danielson doesnt like LSU, blah blah blah blah...

I didn’t see anyone calling this holding. They were hooking and tackling Key nearly every down which IS holding.

The rule is in the book to prevent players that have gotten beat from just grabbing and tackling someone to prevent the QB from getting sacked. That is the definition of what they were doing with the key speed rush

If the defender gets pulled down to the ground, and the OTs hands are OUTSIDE OF HIS BODY, it's is supposed to be called.
The LT did it all night and has mastered his holding by falling to the ground with the defensive player, making it look like it was a mutual fall.
It is clear as day and I could show you minimum 6 times the LT did it.

Don't need to down vote.

You've proved with this idiotic statement that you have ABSOLUTELY NO idea what holding is.

I think its safe to say, you didn't play ball growing up.

Arden got taken down at least twice that I saw. And it was not between the shoulders.

It was a takedown. One at bama’s goal line area and another deep in their territory.

ETA: I haven’t seen many saying we lost because of the no calls. Even watching the game and seeing key get held, I said to the group I was with, at least they’re not calling it on either side. Letting them play.

I thought the LT was doing this whenever Key got around him. Not having to keep a back in to help support the LTs inability to contain Key impacted the game.

And then when we go inside and blitzed to the outside, he would just reach out and fall to the ground. It's an easy easy call for the ref, and it is the point of focus for the ref on passing plays post snap.

I'd love to see the stats on how often Bama players get called for penalties while at Bama and then how often they get called for something in the NFL...

You want to see what holding is? Go watch the play in the end zone when Bama played TAMU. It was the play before the blocked punt.

What is holding is when the dlineman beats the tackle and the tackle has 1 arm on him as he is past. He hooks his shoulder and turns the dlinemen he is engaged with. Can’t do that and that’s what Cam Robinson did last year and what Bama does all the time. You cannot have a single arm trying to keep someone past you.
It was called correctly in the CFP last year on Robinson by refs from other conferences.

If the refs wanted to they could call holding on every play on both teams....

The bama left tackle was holding all night, you dufus.

He tackled (not just held) Key 3-4 times that I noticed.

It was a fricking joke. I appreciate that you played some highschool football and all.....but you are wrong.

Bama subscribes to the Seattle Seahawks method of holding every play and making them call it.

Worked for Seattle and it’s working for Bama.
