No it means you don't make ridiculous statements such as we have a coaching staff that can't fix the offense. What if they don't think it needs to be fixed? They have won 18 of last 19 with this "broken" offense. Think about how stupid that is.

Agreed. Too bad our coaches can't fix some of our whiney fanbase.

I don't remember seeing a single zone read with Mettenberger in 4 games.

I don't think the WRs are as a big of a problem as you suggest. Our biggest problems are OT (both left and right, as Hurst is awful in pass protection) and scheme. We ran into a nine man front all night on Saturday. I need to look up that stats on how many times we ran on 3rd and short and ended up in 4th and 1 or 2.

Another major issue on Saturday was penalties. We took ourselves out of drives by stupid penalties.

Shep has two hands on that deep post. He dropped it.
Bobbles also lead to striops and that happens too much.
Our WR's are not playng well. .

I have no issue with a run first offense. We have the best group of backs in the country.

We ran last year and wore out every team we played except for Bama. No reason we shouldn't do the same this year.

I think the team is feeding Mett a little more each game, giving him a few more chances. We passed the first road test with a W.

Very shaky hands other than Boone, who inexplicably is not starting.

obj fed off of RR last year and Boone is the only one who remotely reminds me of RR...I agree.

our WR consistenly stick to the defenders like glue. We can't get separation and I believe it is half due to passing play design

the play design could be tweaked but the lack of size has everything to do with separation. defenders don't fear obj, landry and shep because they can't effectively shield the ball and if they get a step mett still has to throw over the defender making the throw and catch that much harder. the fact that clement has not developed into a real threat substantially reduces our options in the passing game.

Good OCs design plays where at least one guy gets open by scheme alone regardless of the WR talent. We have no creativity.

I believe we are doing that but it all boils down to the oline not protecting so the plays can develope. IMO, our oline is much more comfortable firing off on run plays than they are with the intricacies of pass protection. Krags getting sick has really hurt us...I think CLM needs to get Stud back on the field and in the olines heads and face. I hear some guy named Petrino is looking for work....and redemption.

this is causing us to go max protect too often, keep Clement in the backfield to help with the D-ends adn teams stack the box and we keep pounding it wiht the same plays the competition has seen for 2 years.

This is a serious problem. In critical situations Saturday we had Ware and Hill in the backfield and they both had to stay and protect. Which leads to only have 3 guys out running routes. If they dont at least TRY someone else at LT we will drop at least one game because of the position alone.

We can bring in quarterback coaches, new oc, passing game coordinator all day, and nothing will change. Miles just sucks when it comes to offense. Thank god he has nothing to do with defense.

think you pretty much pointed out the 2 main problems with the offense.

OT's who get consistently beaten in pass protection, and WR's who dont get enough separation from their man defenders.

All of that will pretty much offset any good qb.

This team is built to play from the lead.
Run the ball, play great defense.
I'm not sure our offense can succeed when forced to make plays.

I'm afraid the word is out on us.
Arky, UGa, Bama, and Auburn have all found a way to stall our offense.

The first two games, the crowd and special teams swung the game our way, and we dominated.

The last two, no special teams plays or crowd, and we looked bad.

Has it been the OL all along? Is it the OC's? Is it Miles? Is it lack of execution?
I don't know, but let's just get the lead and not have to worry about it.

We had multiple opportunities to burn Auburn for being overly aggressive defensively, but we didn't capitalize on those opportunities.

Fumble at the 2. Should be 7 points.
Fumble at the 20. Gave them 7 points.
Dropped/Overthrew 2 deep passes. Should be 7 points.

The game could have easily been 28-3.
The Refs were against us... bug eye was back.
The crowd was against us...
Hell, we were against us with poor execution.
And we still won. Bring on Da Gatas.

Why do we keep running a zone-read type hand off with ZM at QB? do we think that opposing teams fear him pulling the ball back fromt he running back's belly and galloping for three yards? It makes no sense to have that play in our book any longer.

Never made sense with Lee either. And the staff continued to do it.

I'm not bailing on the WR yet, but improvement is clearly needed. Boone should see more reps. He seems to find space better than the others.

45 yard gains like the one that should of been completed to OBJ can not be dropped.
