I would love to end the year on beating Michigan St in a bowl. That would be the icing on the cake

If Auburn loses the Iron Bowl and we beat A&M we both are 9-3 with LSU winning the head to head. State would also be 9-3 winning the Egg Bowl. While LSU would on paper be No. 2 in the SEC West and No. 3 SEC overall, I could see us being the No. 5 bid SEC team.

There is zero chance that this will happen. None.

Auburn is No6 in the nation and has a better overall resume than LSU. They are most likely in a NY6 bowl even with a loss to Bama.

Even Miss St will be picked before LSU, probably by the Citrus.

The Outback is our best bowl slot, but LSU would be a good fit for the Texas bowl as well.

Nope....Bowls are all about fans and my money.

No way in hell a bowl picks South Carolina or Miss State ahead of us.

The Citrus Bowl is not picking LSU two years in a row. They will most likely take MSU (with a win over Ole Miss) over LSU, and their fan base will be exited and ready to travel.

USCe could maybe play their way into the Citrus with a win over Clemson.

LSU is Outback at the best. Texas bowl at the worst.

Outback Bowl vs Northwestern (even worse)

Outback Bowl vs Michigan State (not the worst but certainly not the best)

The last time we were in the Outback Bowl, we only sold about 3,500 tickets. I just don't think LSU fans want to go back to Tampa or Orlando. The only matchup that might draw a decent crowd would be LSU versus Michigan, although that has lost a good deal of its appeal now that Miles is gone.

I would think that for the sake of ticket sales, the LSU administration would prefer a bowl game closer to home that fans can driver to.

Where does the loser of the SECCG end up? If it's Bama, they'll probably end up in the playoffs anyway. We know the drill. What happens to UGA if they lose?

I don't think anyone would have crushed LSU with the D LSU had and a month of rest. Bama posted 50+ on Florida and 30+ on Auburn and Clemson, but only scored 10 against LSU even with LSU doing absolutely nothing on offense. OU might've beaten LSU, but LSU's D would've made it challenging for them.

State almost lost to Arkansas yesterday. They could easily lose the Egg Bowl.

A win over A&M could send LSU to the Outback Bowl against Northwestern. A loss to A&M could send LSU to the Texas Bowl against Texas.

It's weird, but a loss could send LSU to a more desirable bowl/matchup.

ETA: Of course, if you want to go out on a limb, LSU could make it to the Peach Bowl (vs. UCF?) or Cotton Bowl (vs. Penn State?) if Auburn gets beat by 40 points by Alabama and Stidham gets injured, MSU loses to Ole Miss, Georgia gets beat by Ga. Tech and then loses by 30 in the SECCG to Bama and one or both of their backs gets injured.

I don't wish injury on anybody, just pointing out the scenario.

Well, keep losing 3 games a year and we get to have these crappy discussions. Florida bowls suck. Big 10 matchups suck. Playoff, NY6, or bust it seems. I'll watch anyway. I just hate games like the PSU and Iowa ones recently. Also we sucked those years.

We get rolled in all of those. I'm praying for a rematch with Troy, personally.

LSU fans won't travel to any of those matchups

LSU fans are burned out on the Florida bowls. LSU needs to go to the Texas Bowl. We missed the trip to Houston in September. Texas Bowl would get a huge turnout for LSU. But what might kill a trip there is the possibility of a Texas - Texas A&M match in the Texas Bowl.

LSU would boatrace Northwestern.

Crummy opponent in a crummy bowl might be worth it if it means 10 wins.
