I think more would feel differently if you received something out of it, which you don’t.
I’ll give you that, and a decent incentive could change my mind. But there are fundamental problems with NIL & it falls at the feet of the organizations with vested interest in CFB to get it fixed, even if that means reorganizing.
If nothing changes, the league will fall apart. I understand people want to see LSU succeed, but I’m not throwing money at total chaos.
That’s like paying to renovate a house you love because the town is on fire.

I would happily give to Bayou Traditions, but until they give you an option to earmark which sport(s) your donation benefits, I'm out. That is the number one reason I hear from others who would donate as to why they haven't supported this collective.
I gave my donation to the football team then a second one to the baseball team, what about you?

Lol if you think this is smart, than you do you.
It's hilarious that you defend this as being logical.
I enjoy the team success, but the current process is flawed.

Choosing not to do so doesn’t make you a bad fan & don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. It’s okay to have principles.
You're not just a 'bad fan.' You're a hypocritical fan.

Did you read some of the things coming from bama compared to ours? Autographed items, game day experiences, etc.
I agree. Honestly think that they could get more of bayou traditions if they did more GameDay experiences/interactions with students athletes.
I mean if I'm paying $20-100/month I really don't care that I can buy at discou t or get for free some overpriced merchandise. And sure the discounts at some of the retailers can be okay, but when I first saw those it reminded of buying high school booster cards for discounts at local stores, which is kind of meh.
--
If we're doing NIL, then yeah have the the players autograph some merchandise. Also at GameDay, how hard would be it to have something like a pre game beer garden...hell do something like give 1 beer free and then have people purchase the rest...they would probably make money. meet and greet with other donors, student athlete etc.
I mean I get donating to donate and keep up with the other schools, but there's lots of opportunity to grow it into a better fan experience and attract more donors.

Because I graduated from LSU lmao.
CFB generates revenue. Pay players or don’t, but the NIL loophole is ridiculous & cannot be regulated. Has made the sport dirtier than it was before! I’ve never been responsible for funding the roster, and I’m not starting now.
But you do you.
In the meantime, I’ll continue being a fan

Either adapt to the new rules or watch our athletic programs wither.
I choose to adapt.

Did they really name the second tier one “neck”? Can we be a little more serious?

It's hilarious how everyone on here wants and expects the best players and coaches, but when confronted with helping achieve that, every excuse in the book comes out.
Let's list the excuses:
1) The names for the tiers are dumb.
2) Can't designate which sport my money is dedicated for. (Not true.)
3) Season ticket holders don't get any free stuff.
4) The NIL tiers don't give out enough freebies, i.e., "I want an autographed shirt if I give money!!" (That's just sad...)
5) I don't like the NIL rules. They need to be changed before I give.
6) It's too expensive, need lower amounts for me to give. ($1.00 is too expensive??? )
7) I don't want my money going to an unproven athlete.
8) I don't want any of my money going to Livvy Dunne.
9) The big donors get all the free stuff. (Ironic.)
10) The NIL rules are going to change.
11) Players should be happy not getting paid, those greedy bastards!
12) I don't have to give, I graduated from LSU.
13) I have never paid to help bring in recruits before and I'm not going to do it now.
14) I don't think we need to recruit good players in order to win championships.
15) Nobody likes me.
16) Everybody hates me.
17) I'm going to eat some worms...
18) ETA: "I’ma sit back and watch this play out" -DeathByTossDive225
19) ETA: "Flawed man"- zztop1234
20) ETA: "I played college football and I refuse to ever pay for it!" - kjanchild
Did I leave any out?

It is obvious the players are employees here — They contribute to generating revenue. Athletic departments, television networks, and coaches collect.
This is the only example in the country where line level employees cannot be compensated directly, and instead their pay is based on crowdfunding donations.
You spend your money how you like, I’ma sit back and watch this play out for a while. Keep your eyes on ole miss next year, cannot wait til they faceplant.

used to donate prior to NIL, but I’ll be damned if I’m gonna give $ that will end up going to kids who are shopping themselves to the highest bidder and may be gone at the next window. CFB and CBB are toast unless changes are made and soon.
God forbid those kids get some money for entertaining you while they get CTE

When you say kids you mean in one of the 3 major sports?
What about
Soccer
Softball
Swimming
Track
Gymnastics
Flawed man
It is not doing what it was intended to do.

Right now fan-supported NIL is part of the arms race that is college athletics. Pretending that isn't true and doing nothing just isn't an option if we want to see LSU coaches and athletes holding up championship trophies.

So which LSU sports teams would you like to exclude from your donations and why?
Posted on 1/13/24 at 5:34 pm to LSURussian
Sorry, I played college football and I refuse to ever pay for it! We got the best of everything compared to the other students. It is ridiculous what the SOB's get today. Now, if it were true NIL...maybe!
Posted on 1/13/24 at 6:09 pm to LSURussian
See I never knew that it is 11.5k max that TAF gets. What's the lowest donation that they get? All I'm saying is $50-100/yr is affordable.
