I wasn’t talking about lowering the amount available already. I’m talking about the minimum that they offer.

Agreed.

What is apparent in this thread is that there posters on this website who consider themselves LSU sports fans who are desperate to find a reason NOT to support their favorite college athletic program.

You know who you are...

My contribution to Bayou Traditions monthly is equal to the price of oil on 1st day of month that oil is traded. This month it was $70. I'm praying for State of La for oil to return to $120 barrel but Trump wants $40 dollar barrel oil again . If that happens I will find another contribution method....my wife said for me to tie contribution to $10 for each inch of my pecker...dam $20/month isn't buying nothing but a 1-Star football player. I think if LSU gets Corey Raymond back coaching the DB's I man up to $100/month. Stay tuned!

The images in the OP are not "the minimum they offer." Those are recurring monthly gifts.

The minimum is a $1.00 one-time donation. And you can give $1.00 every month if that's what you want to do.

What are we upset about here? Because they seem similar. Bama gets you a decal at the first level, Lsu gets you a $20 store credit. Those are also the recurring donation tiers. You can always make a single donation anytime you want.

Also, if you haven't looked into it, you can donate and ear mark one time donations for a specific sport.

Since I live out of state and don't buy season tickets (TAF funds) this is a reasonable option for me to contribute to the athletic program I love. I also make a yearly donation to TAF. Remember that TAF funds go to coaches and facilities.

Damn. Some of you argue just to argue. Ok , I’ll make it simple for you. Commit to 20$ a month to the NIL fund is the challenge as a minimum

100k fans give $100 and thats 40k per athlete.
The problem is the 100,000 fans number is unrealistic.

Just think, as long as TAF has been around taking donations to help the LSU athletic program there are only 11,500 TAF members.

I just looked on TAF's website and that's the number of members TAF says it has.

I don’t understand what’s the point of this thread. What’s the big difference? Are people arguing we’re behind bama? I don’t understand. They look exactly the same.

I used to donate prior to NIL, but I’ll be damned if I’m gonna give $ that will end up going to kids who are shopping themselves to the highest bidder and may be gone at the next window. CFB and CBB are toast unless changes are made and soon.

You’re wrong about the low dollar fans not making a big difference. Ole Miss has been growing that group a lot and has had very good success with it for the transfer portal

I would happily give if LSU has the Bama option of an "engaging experience with a student-athlete" and I could choose Livvy Dunne

Are you the same poster as mjax57? I replied to him and you challenged my reply to him as if I had replied to you.

That's certainly your prerogative.

I just hope you won't be complaining on here when we lose a 5* recruit to another program possibly because their NIL offer was better for the athlete.

What is better? The "yea network", I'm not sure what that is. A decal vs store credit?

Dont forget, our program has a cash back perk that can make a difference when you shop at participating retailers.

Keep in mind, we are very early into this era.

I’m not hedging my bet here — current combo of NCAA + NIL + Federal Law is not sustainable. Someone will find a way to make formal revenue sharing possible, or this money will ultimately come out of AD budgets (in an indirect “zero-sum” kind of way) as the market stabilizes.

Donations to NIL will always be donations not made to TAF… which is what pays for facilities & staff.

Thanks for the information. I was not familiar with this fund raising effort. I joined the Natty Club. It isn't a lot of money for LSU but if more from Tiger Rant join.......

Not "always." But maybe "sometimes."

When I signed up for the monthly Bayou Tradition Fund donation I didn't reduce my TAF donations. In fact, I increased my January, 2024 TAF donation.

I'm sure I'm not the only fan who has or who will do that. My few dollars to both won't make a significant difference but if enough of us do it, I think we'll all be pleased with the result.

I, for one, think Scott Woodward is pulling us kicking and screaming into the top tier of college athletics. And like it or not, that takes money.
