Aranda couldn’t wait to get away from Coach O. If you think they had a good working relationship, you are 100% wrong.

If you believe that, you need some serious psychiatric help.

Exactly! Where is Woodward in all of this? He's the one who sold the barn to give Orgeron 7 million dollars a year and Pelini 2.3 million. Does anyone have any idea how much buyouts would cost? As Athletic Admin. money goes down the drain, is it even possible to think about buyouts at any time in the immediate future. I thought Woodward was supposed to be a wizard.

Orgeron will become the next Chizdick. Mark my words. From penthouse to outhouse in record time.

First off who gives a shite where a coach is from? That should have no bearing on how he’s praised or criticized. A lot of the public were weary that last year was just lightning in a bottle for O due to Burrow, Brady, and Aranda being there at the same time. When all three left there was a lot of concern if O could manage without elite coordinators and hoped he would make the right hires but he failed miserably. Steve E and Pelini will sink O and if he’s willing to go down with them then more power to him.
Posted on 10/11/20 at 5:47 pm to siliconvalleytiger
These were his hires, he owns their performance.
This is shades of Les Miles hiring incompetence and had hoped O was different, apparently not.
LSU being LSU

Yes, they were his hires and he deserves criticism. He also deserves the chance to fix it. This whole “I told you Orgeron was a bad hire” thing is idiotic and entitled. Nobody worth shite will ever want to come here if that’s the treatment for having a bad season after an NC.

The vitriol is not surprising. People who were not sold on O before were just waiting for a stumble so they could re-emerge and call for his firing. It's what happens with fan bases. We get upset and let out the frustration by calling for everyone's head. The time frame for "what have you done for me lately" has shortened significantly. These people weren't calling for O's head when they were singing "We are the Champions" in January.
Everyone will have their own statistics to prove any point they want. What I've seen is someone who has grown and developed and made the changes he needed to make when he needed to make them. Based on what I've seen, I expect more adjustments and changes until he gets it right. I think it's early to speculate on coaching changes in the off season. We have 7 more games in front of us. It would be smart to work with your staff to do what needs to be done first. Then at the end of the year if it's still not working you hand out the pink slips.
Finally, someone gets it!!

He better, or he’ll be riding the bus from Baton Rouge to Natchitoches for the second time in his life.

Catching that kind of lighting bolt isn't easy my friend. No one has ever done it so well in the 50 years I've been watching football. He deserves some time to get it fixed. Next year or the honeymoon is over.

I was Anti-O but he showed it can work and work at the highest level.
He just needs to make good coordinator choices.
I’m worried we’re financially saddled with Bo.
Maybe we can fire Linehan and E retires. (Yes thenoffense is an issue. We are back to one of the worst red zone offenses in the country almost half our drives stall.)
I would Normally say give Bo some time, but there is a lot more than just talent issues going on.

My real issue with this is Pelini's buy out from Nebraska was ending and what was Youngstown paying him, $500k? Zero reason LSU should be paying him 2.3M annually. Linehan made zero sense.
Posted on 10/12/20 at 1:29 am to tirebiter
Pelini and Linehan were not great hires. Neither was Canada. He flushed Canada when it didn't work. He will do the same with the other two unless they right this. He has shown that he will do whatever for LSU.

quote:as a lifelong Tiger fan i am disgusted with the team and how they are playing and the coaching as well.
Orgeron is an arse-clown who caught lightning in a bottle last year.
CEO needs to take extreme measures right now to try and right the ship.
but please keep in mind what has taken place with this 2020 WuFlu Black Lives Matter political climate cities on fire anti-American landscape we are all living in today.
granted, other schools have been able to sustain a better than average win/loss record so far this season.
if Coach O can't find the key to change the direction of the team, then he will end up losing his dream job.
i was happy with the hiring of Coach and expect he will get it turned around.
after the poor showing in Missouri there is only one way to go.
this saturday will reveal what direction the team is headed.
player effort and coaching must show a drastic improvement over our last game.
the team may not win the game but it sure as hell must compete and show it still has a heart.
Coach O better show that "We Comin', and we ain't backing down".

Long post, so I apologize in advance...
I’m really getting tired of the vitriol, both towards our coaches and our players. Yes, the defense is bad. Yes, it’s on Orgeron (and Pelini, of course) to fix it. I’m as embarrassed as anyone to see an LSU defense shite the bed the way it has this year. But I’m also embarrassed to be part of a fan base that has zero fricking loyalty to the people who brought them the best season in the history of college football. I’m embarrassed to be part of a fan base that gets in pissing matches with 18-19 year old kids on Twitter. I’m embarrassed that our fans have zero self awareness of where we are as a program.
I posted this in another thread last night but I think it’s worth repeating:
Of active FBS head coaches, only 3 (including Orgeron) have won a national championship with their current program. Only six have a higher winning percentage than Orgeron at their current program. Of those six, one has only been head coach for a year (Ryan Day), and one is in the Group of 5 (Josh Heupel). That leaves Saban, Dabo, Mullen, and Riley.
When a coach goes 15-0 and wins a national championship, he should earn enough rope to fix these issues without the chorus of “fire the shrimp boat captain” constantly droning in the background. Because at the end of the day, there’s absolutely no guarantee that the next guy will be better. In fact, there’s a high likelihood that he won’t be better. Remember Herman? Remember Jimbo?
And don’t get me started on Ensminger. Putting aside the fact that we set SEC records in yards per game and points per game last year, we are currently averaging 467 yards per game this year. That puts us on track for #2 in school history, despite a new QB and a running game that still hasn’t been established. Our 38.7 points per game would also be #2 in school history.
“But we can’t convert third downs!” - yep, it’s a problem that needs to be addressed. However, we are still averaging 24.3 first downs per game. Over the course of a 13 game season, that would put us #3 in school history for total first downs.
“But our offense sucked in 2018!” Well, our offense certainly wasn’t great in 2018. But if you go back to 2000 (the “modern era” of LSU football for most), our 2018 offense was actually in the upper 50% in terms of both yards per game and points per game. And perhaps most importantly, Ensminger recognized the need to switch to a spread offense - which LSU has never done before.
Despite all of this, people around here shite on Ensminger every day. Steve Ensminger, a former LSU quarterback from Baton Rouge who is on track to have the top two offenses in LSU history. Do I wish we still had Joe Brady? Of course! But I’m not going to take that out on a guy who has poured his heart and soul into our program.
I’m not saying we shouldn’t be critical of the coaches, or the players for that matter. I’m just saying we should be able to be critical without the vitriol. I’m sure I’ll get downvoted to hell for the wall of text, but frick man, this is getting exhausting.
TL;DR - our fan base is spoiled and has an unrealistic sense of entitlement.

calm down, hes not getting fired. But weve wanted coaches fired for losing national title games, of course people will be mad that we look like dinardos last team rt now.

Lol, yall keep saying this but we fired our most successful coach before. And everything you posted was said about Les too. Maybe people question why we keep bringing in guys from that regime to coach this team moving forward. It actually makes no sense whatsoever.

Put E back at qb or TE coach get rid of this co-OC bs. Linehan can be analyst if buyout is too big. Hire a real OC that doesnt have grey hair
