"...so I promised myself this year there would be no let down, and there wasn't."

Interview with Doucet most of you probably have seen already, but this stood out to me for some reason. This man impresses me every time I listen to him. He's not content to just be a good coach, and can acknowledge where he needs to do better and make changes accordingly. Sounds pretty basic, but it's so refreshing. Orgeron is going to do what it takes to win, and LSU football is in great shape going forward

He is correct, we don't lose to Florida and A&M.

We also score on Bama but no way was beat them

Still don't blame him for losing to aTm, just like I don't blame Miles for losing to Auburn in 2006.

Maybe 2018 was the big learning experience he needed. And maybe he doesn't need to respond to the idiot internet warriors.

Actions > Words

It's cool he can say it now. I'm not sure why you take issue with it. Wouldn't you prefer he do it than just say it?

I actually praise O for doing what he says he will do.. even if it takes a little extra time.

He’s actually said it multiple times, and well before the national championship too. He talked a lot about settling for a field goal against Florida instead of going for it on fourth down, and obviously, A&M has been talked about at length.

O has been extremely critical of himself. The moment he was hired he set an expectation. Sorry it did pay off year one I guess.

As one of his loudest critics, GTFO with this nonsense. He said he needed to be better back then.

The A&M game is the one that sticks out to me as one we just simply shouldn't have lost. Felt like we own that game at least 3 separate times.

Win that game, and I think the dynamic of that offseason is a bit different in terms of more people being on board and believing in O going into 2019.

Correct..should have beaten FL and A&M. Still lose to Bama. I bet they would have made CFP though with Bama the only loss.

What I like about O is he identifies the problems and takes action to fix them. Miles never did that.

Highly doubt it, wouldn't have got in over OU who won the Big 12 with 12-1 record. Especially considering how bad we lost to Bama. OU avenged their only loss of the year by beating Texas for Big 12 CCG.

Alabama, Clemson and ND were all undefeated.

While this undoubtedly correct, it can be a slippery slope.

Coaches can change assistants repeatedly, but never learn a single lesson.

O has proven to be able to self-evaluate. And that is not easy.

Exactly. Ive made the argument that we are always in a better spot to win a championship with O because he will actually go out and identify and try to fix problems. Even if everything goes terrible and he's 7-5 one year I have way more faith in him coming back and winning big the next year than I would with a coach that refuses to change.

I think his detractors started to sort of warm up to him after 2018. I did, at least. It was a solid year that built pretty well off of a disappointing 2017 season.

Anyone with a brain that wasn’t dead set on proving that they were right about the hire knew after the 2018 season this program was headed in the right direction, and doing so on a track that any of us really thought was attainable.

Any logical person was very happy with the direction he had us headed, not tired of him.
