Didn’t she cheat on him with another woman?

She was supposedly sleeping with an assistant coach.

What about when she was facing her own addiction issues in Mandeville while he was coaching in BR?

Good luck fighting back with the same court that ruled 5-2 against you. Rehearing grants are rare. Especially when you have to change 2 votes in your favor

I hope he wins. She doesn’t deserve half of that money.

Why not?

Maybe you can explain to me how legally she should be entitled to future wages. I don’t care if he was a belligerent drunk or what role she played in their family. I’m a divorce attorney and this new filing is 100% right. That ruling made no sense under the law.

Seems to me that is essentially the ruling the court made. It’s an interesting thought exercise though.

If the contract was fully guaranteed, then when was the money actually “earned.” I think an argument could be made that it was essentially earned when the contract was signed regardless of the payout structure.

Maybe that’s the case her lawyers made, maybe not. I really don’t know.

It’d be a whole other question as to if that’s fair.

Adding 20 law firms doesnt bolster the argument.

Depends on who they are and how politically connected they are

I’d also pose the question, had he been fired for cause with no buyout, does she argue he dissipated the estate and ask for a judgment of what his buyout would have been.

With this ruling, Saints and Pelicans players need to think long and hard about signing extensions

The buyout was for future work. He hadn’t earned it yet.

Like it or not, she's getting half. She was there the entire time, so she gets half of the pie! Not saying it's fair, but welcome to divorce court where men are treated like second class citizens.

The first time I met with my attorney, the first thing he said was unless you can prove your wife is a prostitute or crackhead, she's getting the kids! Sadly, he was right!

O doesn't stand a chance!

lol denied. Those are practically never granted at any level to the extent that I’m not even sure why they exist procedurally.

How does it work today? Let’s say I am a design engineer that works on the team, hell, the ones that leads the team to design the new MS River Bridge. I get divorced and ordered to pay the exact same structure as O.

If the project runs behind schedule and over budget, extending my contract and payments, would I have to pay my ex of this new extension?

Being an LSU fan, I went through a lot of pain and suffering in 2000 & 2001. I feel I should get a couple of thousand at least for that.

I’m not gonna pretend to know what happened in his marriage like some others but I’ll say that the way he screwed LSU by literally hiring all his family and buddies to any position he possibly could and then laughed about “give me my check and tell me what door to go out of”…..yea how anyone could defend him is beyond me.

The Louisiana Supreme Court says so.

Yes, unless there is some type of fraud involved.

Agreed, he'll likely be coaching D-Line next year. And it's really who he is.....a D-Line coach and nothing wrong with that.

Pure emotion no legal reasoning, thanks
