I would be fine with Any of these hires. I'd still prefer to keep Miles until the end of next year.

There is a singular reason you can no longer keep Miles through another year...recruiting. It is all about certainty, and there is now a massive amount of uncertainty surrounding Miles.

I have been a huge fan of Miles and stood up for him his entire time here so far and I hate to see him be forced out. But, with what has transpired the last two weeks I feel that it might be too late to salvage it. How can he look at recruit and make any type of promise about coming to LSU when he might not be here? He can't.

I'm fairly certain Jack Del Rio has a daughter in her 14th freshman year at LSU

Mullen is not a realistic option. He's already making 4.3 mil a yr in Starkville, which is the same as Miles. He isn't going to leave a program he built from the ground up for the same amount of $ and much higher expectations. And I honestly believe, he thinks he can win it all at State and doesn't need to go to a higher prestige program.

Mullen is only making $3.2M/yr at MSU. Dan's not dumb, he knows he probably has a job for life in Starkville, but he's got to know he ain't winning it all there.

Mullen made 3.2 mil last year. He's making 4 mil this year. Mullen is set to make an average of 4.275 million through 2018. His salary escalates throughout the term of the deal. I really don't see him jumping ship for another SEC West school. I think he and his wife really like being at State.

Gee seems that not every head coach in America wants the LSU job. Three of those listed won't last very long.

Dan Mullin would be the best choice.

Chip Kelly = No (doesn't know what defense is.)
Gary Patterson = No (see example above)

You're clueless .

Gary Patterson won 12 games last season and is looking at 10 wins this season despite QB injuries.

And Chip Kelly had a solid defense at Oregon despite not having the top quality athletes LSU has.

Just because a team scores a lot of points, doesn't mean they dont play defense.

Its a matter of plays per game. Thats the whole purpose of up-temp.

They better have Jimbo locked up already verbally or Alleva is going to have serious egg on his face. Some of y'all don't understand how impressive Mullen has been at State with their recruiting battles with every SEC school for any player and his ability to develop players. They have a QB that will start next year that is every bit the athlete that Dak is and that Mullen will develop, but I seriously doubt he would leave the security of Vegas.

No Tom Herman mentioned by Mascona? Wow, surprised Mascona wouldn't give him consideration.

Exactly this. The happenings starting with the leaked info that hit the newspaper has made it so that recruiting would not fare well if they backed down. Even if that info had not leaked, I think Miles' going into another year on such a downward trend, making him a lame duck, would have hurt recruiting anyway.

Per Mascona is about as legit as per TD.com. What does he know besides what Gordy, Iberia bank, and 1 Hour AC tells him?
